Art Garden DesignThis property had not been landscaped for more than 25 years. The entryway and front hillside were covered in large juniper hedges, the Oaks and Redwoods on the property were littered with dead branches, and construction debris from decades was scattered throughout the creek-side property. After extensive tree work and removals, the front yard construction consisted of a moss rock boulder creek that wrapped down the front hillside. The backyard design integrated a new Redwood deck, black basalt gravel patio, and shade appropriate plants. The tree work allowed more light onto the property, and the home owners were able to finally enjoy their outdoor space.

Landscape LogicWe used exposed beach pebble bands to break up the large amount of concrete in this driveway. The pebble is set on a concrete base and set in mortar which makes it very sturdy to drive on. After installed we put a clear sealer over the pebble to make it shine. The concrete has an etched finish which also shows small amounts of aggregate in the finish. This gives the concrete a sanded finish which is a non-slip finish.

The design incorporates drought-tolerant, heat-resistant plantings, limestone and mulch from the property, and uses 100% rainwater capture. The outdoor patio area is equipped with a grill, a seating area, and is oriented to watch Texas sunsets. There is a garden with fresh herbs and peach and olive trees. 3 Texas Redbuds are lined up with the front windows, giving the client a perfect view towards them. The landscape will be installed in spring of 2023.
