This extensive and very exposed site has been transformed by the contractor to provide a beautiful rooftop space where staff, clients and visitors can gather for informal meetings or to relax and have their lunch. In keeping with the client’s ethos of recycling the contractor used recycled timber to frame the building walls. There is a meadow area to encourage butterflies and insects and a living wall. The contractor had to liaise with residents adjacent to the building and with the client to ensure there was no disruption to the working day for staff in the building as materials were brought in. The construction and planting has been expertly carried out with impressive attention to detail.
