Hand painted saltillo tile installed for a laundry room backsplash

These hand-painted saltillo tiles were installed diagonally on a laundry room backsplash in the Oaks club of Osprey, Florida. Due to their irregular size it is very important to leave enough space scene between the tiles to create a more uniform look. It is also very important to install them using thin set mortar making sure that the tiles are first been soaked in water to slow down the drying process to create a good bond with the thinset mortar.
