Cette petite cuisine a été entièrement repensée. Pour pouvoir agrandir la salle de bain le choix a été fait de diminuer la surface de la cuisine. Elle reste néanmoins très fonctionnelle car toutes les fonctions d'usage sont présentes mais masquées par les portes de placard (frigo, four micro ondes, hotte, rangements.... ) Elle est séparée du salon par un clairevoie ce qui la lie au reste de l'appartement sans pour autant être complétement ouverte.

The brief for this project involved completely re configuring the space inside this industrial warehouse style apartment in Chiswick to form a one bedroomed/ two bathroomed space with an office mezzanine level. The client wanted a look that had a clean lined contemporary feel, but with warmth, texture and industrial styling. The space features a colour palette of dark grey, white and neutral tones with a bespoke kitchen designed by us, and also a bespoke mural on the master bedroom wall.

Inspiration for an industrial kitchen in London.

Bathed in soft daylight from the tall, black-framed windows, the new kitchen-diner reads like a carefully layered still-life: a full-length run of forest-green, handle-less cabinetry underlines the exposed London-stock brick, while a single LED-lit oak shelf works double duty as a bar and visual horizon. Centre stage, a Calacatta-look quartz waterfall island slides forward to meet a glass-topped dining table; both are ringed by boucle-upholstered chairs that temper the industrial envelope with tactile warmth. Below, pale oak herringbone boards knit the entire ground floor together, their chevrons echoed by the subtle brass inlay that defines each cabinet front. Overhead, a sculptural black pendant arcs towards a playful KAWS figure perched above the tall larder units, proof that this is a working kitchen with a sense of fun as well as finesse.

We had the awesome job of designing a one of a kind kitchen along with the rest entire lower ground floor space inside of this vast Victorian terrace just around the corner in London Fields. Highlights include a huge & entirely bespoke designed, hand made kitchen. With savage band sawn and treated oak doors & hand poured Terrazzo worktops adding incredible character and texture to the epic space.

L’échoppe est libérée du cloisonnement et du sol existant. Le nouveau sol est une dalle en béton poncée, une trémie au Sud garantie ventilation, chaleur et lumière au sous-sol. La façade en pierre au nord est percée largement pour ouvrir la maison sur le patio. Le faux plafond est déposé pour dégager le volume de la maison. L’isolation du toit se fait en sous face, elle est protégée par de l’onduline galvanisé pour ne pas modifier les alignements des échoppes sur rue. La salle de bain prend place au niveau du patio, permettant une ventilation et un ensoleillement généreux. La chambre est construite en mezzanine sur 3 poutre de douglas et un plancher en bac collaborant métallique pour diminuer les épaisseurs de plancher et diffuser la lumière au cœur de la maison. Les panneaux de bois de contreplaqué filmé garantissent une pérennité à l’ouvrage sans adjuvants polluants et une mise en œuvre pratique. Les menuiseries proposent une expérimentation sur les mises en œuvres : tunnel sur rue, en applique intérieure dans le salon et en applique extérieure pour la pièce d’eau.
