HUX LondonThe clients wanted a bold and unique kitchen design, to contrast and complement the ornate cornicing and detailed Victorian stained glass window. The design includes two-toned cabinetry in complementary colours and a discrete built in fridge freezer and utility cupboard sitting flush with a wall for maximum storage.

Simpson & VoyleThis kitchen showcases a harmonious blend of contemporary design and classic architecture. The room is well-lit, with natural light streaming in from a large window on the left. The ceiling features intricate crown molding, indicative of the building's Grade 2 listing and historical significance. Three elegant pendant lights with a brass finish and frosted glass shades hang above the central island, which is topped with a pristine white countertop. The island also incorporates a built-in sink and a cooktop, offering functionality within its streamlined form.
Two modern bar stools with curved silhouettes and dark wooden legs are positioned at the island, providing casual seating. The kitchen cabinetry is minimalistic, with handleless doors painted in a muted off-white tone that complements the overall neutral palette. A splashback of white marble adds a touch of luxury and ties in with the countertop. The flooring is laid in a herringbone pattern, adding texture and a classic touch to the space. A small selection of books and a vase with eucalyptus branches introduce a personal and lived-in feel to the otherwise minimalist kitchen.
Hobsons ChoiceWorking closely with the clients, a two-part split layout was designed. The main ‘presentation’ kitchen within the living area, and the ‘prep’ kitchen for larger catering needs, are separated by a Rimadesio sliding pocket door.
Amazing SpacesThe stainless steel double oven and range hood compliment the white cabinetry and metal hardware. Warm tones in the stonewood granite backsplash and island countertop add interest and depth. Dark hardwood floors ground the space. The island features an integrated cutting board and trash bins creating a functional workspace.

Location: Plymouth, MN, United States
When this couple’s last child graduated from college they began the process of looking for a new home. After a lengthy search they decided to stay with the neighborhood they loved, saving money by remodeling rather than starting over.
The top priorities on their wish list were adding character to their 1990’s era home with a classic white kitchen and a larger island while keeping within the existing footprint. With the intention of honing their cooking skills, they were also considering better appliances and two ovens.
Challenges and Solutions
Design a larger island with seating for at least two. The existing island was small and the area behind the seating was less than recommended clearances.
To solve this challenge, the seating area of the island was extended out into the open area of the kitchen. This created a larger island with seating for three, extra storage and a bookshelf across from the range.
The original kitchen had a range with microwave above, so adding another oven was a challenge with limited wall space.
Because the adjoining dining room is used infrequently, the homeowner was open to placing the second oven and microwave in the walkway. This made room for the small buffet between the built in refrigerator and ovens, creating one of her favorite areas.
The client requested a white painted kitchen but wanted to make sure it had warmth and character. To achieve this the following elements were chosen:
1) Cabinets painted with Benjamin Moore Capitol White, a luminous and warm shade of white.
2) The Range hood was painted with warm metallic shades to reflect the bronze of the Ashley Norton hardware.
3) Black Aqua Grantique granite was chosen for countertops because it looks like soapstone and adds contrast.
4) Walker Zanger Café tile in Latte was chosen for it’s handmade look with uneven edges.
5) The to-the-counter-cabinet with glass door shows off serving dishes and lends sophisticated charm.
The result is a welcoming classic kitchen, where this couple enjoys cooking more often and sharpening their skills with gourmet appliances.

burlanes interiorsBurlanes were commissioned to design, create and install a fresh and contemporary kitchen for a brand new extension on a beautiful family home in Crystal Palace, London. The main objective was to maximise the use of space and achieve a clean looking, clutter free kitchen, with lots of storage and a dedicated dining area.
We are delighted with the outcome of this kitchen, but more importantly so is the client who says it is where her family now spend all their time.
“I can safely say that everything I ever wanted in a kitchen is in my kitchen, brilliant larder cupboards, great pull out shelves for the toaster etc and all expertly hand built. Mountainwood HomesThe range was relocated off of the island and is now a focal point in the room. The stainless hood vent over the range is both beautiful and functional. A walk-in pantry was removed, and now beautiful built-in cabinets act as the pantry.
Medford RemodelingAnother item on the client’s wish list was a built-in doggie station for their two large dogs. This custom unit was designed with convenience in mind: a handy pot-filler was hard piped in for easy water bowl refills. The same glass backsplash tile and granite counter top were used to match the rest of the kitchen, and LED lights brighten the space the same way the undercabinet lights do. Rubber-bottomed dog bowls prevent any accidental spills, which are easy to clean up should they occur. Now the dogs have their own place to eat and drink, and the clients won’t be tripping over dog bowls in the floor!

The best of the past and present meet in this distinguished design. Custom craftsmanship and distinctive detailing give this lakefront residence its vintage flavor while an open and light-filled floor plan clearly mark it as contemporary. With its interesting shingled roof lines, abundant windows with decorative brackets and welcoming porch, the exterior takes in surrounding views while the interior meets and exceeds contemporary expectations of ease and comfort. Nearby is a private sitting room and a 14 by 15-foot master bedroom with built-ins and a spa-style double-sink bath with a beautiful barrel-vaulted ceiling. The main level also includes a work room and first floor laundry, while the 2,165-square-foot second level includes three bedroom suites, a loft and a separate 966-square-foot guest quarters with private living area, kitchen and bedroom. Rounding out the offerings is the 1,960-square-foot lower level, where you can rest and recuperate in the sauna after a workout in your nearby exercise room. Also featured is a 21 by 18-family room, a 14 by 17-square-foot home theater, and an 11 by 12-foot guest bedroom suite.

This custom cabinetry built-in has two wind refrigerators installed side-by-side, one having a hinged door on the right side and the other on the left. The clients wanted to keep the existing flooring and also incorporate their antique buffet cabinet. Our designers picked the perfect stain to blend all the wood finishes in the new kitchen.
