From the architect's description: "This grand detached period property in Teddington suffered from a lack of connectivity with the rear garden as well as a cramped kitchen and poorly lit living spaces. Replacing the original modest gable end rear extension a collection of new intersecting volumes contain a generous open plan space accommodating a new kitchen, dining area and snug. The existing side return lean-to has also been replaced with a large utility space that boasts full height integrated storage and a new WC. Taking every opportunity to harness natural light from its east facing orientation an assortment of glazing features including a clearstory window, glazed kitchen splashback, glazed corner window and two roof lights have been carefully positioned to ensure every elevation of the new extension is suitably equipped to capture daylight. Careful detailing of the recycled bricks from the old extension with new European Larch cladding provide crisply defined apertures containing new expansive full height minimally-framed sliding doors opening up the rear elevation onto a new raised patio space."

Frome InteriorsFrome Interiors
This bespoke family kitchen was part of the renovation of a period home in Frome. The ground floor is a half basement and struggled with dark rooms and a layout that did not function well for family life. New windows were added to the adjoining dining room and crisp white finishes and clever lighting have transformed the space. Bespoke cabinets maximised the limited head height and corner space. Designed in a classic shaker style and painted in Hopper by Little Greene with classic burnished brass ironmongery, it is a timeless design.

We completed a project in the charming city of York. This kitchen seamlessly blends style, functionality, and a touch of opulence. From the glass roof that bathes the space in natural light to the carefully designed feature wall for a captivating bar area, this kitchen is a true embodiment of sophistication. The first thing that catches your eye upon entering this kitchen is the striking lime green cabinets finished in Little Greene ‘Citrine’, adorned with elegant brushed golden handles from Heritage Brass.

Nestled in Drayton, Abingdon, our latest kitchen showcases the seamless fusion of functionality and aesthetics. The bespoke Hepworth and Wood furniture takes centre stage, with the double-bevel Bramham door design adding immediate interest to the space. The choice of Benjamin Moore Scuff-X paint, expertly mixed to the client's preference, adds a truly personal touch. An Artscut worktop, though now a discontinued shade, is testament to the commitment to exceptional design that goes beyond the ordinary. In this kitchen, every fixture tells a story. The Quooker and Perrin & Rowe taps harmonise seamlessly. An Aga, thoughtfully provided by the client, brings a touch of culinary tradition to the space, while the Falmec hood, Caple wine cooler and Liebherr fridge and freezer complete the ensemble. Navigating the intricacies of the client's brief, we set out to craft a space that offers grandeur yet exudes the warmth of a family home. The result is a perfect sanctuary for the couple and their grown-up children, allowing them to gather, celebrate, and create cherished memories. With a nod to the former space's history, this kitchen is more than just a room; it champions great design and its ability to transform spaces and enrich lives. Looking for more inspiration? Our client tells us: "I cannot recommend Design Interiors enough. Tim has an exceptional eye for design, instinctively knowing what works & striking the perfect balance between incorporating our design pre-requisites & ideas & making has own suggestions. Every design detail has been spot on. His plan was creative, making the best use of space, practical - & the finished result has more than lived up to expectations. The leicht product is excellent – classic German quality & although a little more expensive than some other kitchens , the difference is streets ahead – and pound for pound exceptional value. But its not just design. We were lucky enough to work with the in house project manager Stuart who led our build & trades for our whole project, & was absolute fantastic. Ditto the in house fitters, whose attention to detail & perfectionism was impressive. With fantastic communication,, reliability & downright lovely to work with – we are SO pleased we went to Design Interiors. If you’re looking for great service, high end design & quality product from a company big enough to be super professional but small enough to care – look no further!" Our clients had previously carried out a lot of work on their old warehouse building to create an industrial feel. They always disliked having the kitchen & living room as separate rooms so, wanted to open up the space. It was important to them to have 1 company that could carry out all of the required works. Design Interiors own team removed the separating wall & flooring along with extending the entrance to the kitchen & under stair cupboards for extra storage. All plumbing & electrical works along with plastering & decorating were carried out by Design Interiors along with the supply & installation of the polished concrete floor & works to the existing windows to achieve a floor to ceiling aesthetic. Tim designed the kitchen in a bespoke texture lacquer door to match the ironmongery throughout the building. Our clients who are keen cooks wanted to have a good surface space to prep whilst keeping the industrial look but, it was a priority for the work surface to be hardwearing. Tim incorporated Dekton worktops to meet this brief & to enhance the industrial look carried the worktop up to provide the splashback. The contemporary design without being a handless look enhances the clients’ own appliances with stainless steel handles to match. The open plan space has a social breakfast bar area which also incorporate’s a clever bifold unit to house the boiler system which was unable to be moved.

Great family open space, with that wow factor. Wanted a tall block of units with super-high storage- mainly for affect, but also back up storage. Island had to be a real show-stopper, so we designed a wraparound brushed stainless steel section over matt black units.
