Beautiful soft modern by Canterbury Custom Homes, LLC in University Park Texas. Large windows fill this home with light. Designer finishes include, extensive tile work, wall paper, specialty lighting, etc...

This home office is functional and welcoming. With plenty of storage to keep the papers that a running household generates out of the way, yet functional to keep on top of things. The wood tile is a great balance to this space.

We created a home office tucked away behind a chocolate velvet privacy curtain. The key to a small space is storage and organization. The homeowners selected their favorite books for a collection located in the ceiling shelving area including under-mounted LED lights providing adequate reading light. Bench seats are upholstered in stylish geometric Kravet fabric and seats slide open for additional hidden storage. Hand painted mural of the clients favorite vacation spot works perfectly with this curved wall surface and adds not only color, but perspective to this narrow 8' round underground shelter.

Set in the garden beside a traditional Dutch Colonial home in Wellesley, Flavin conceived this boldly modern retreat, built of steel, wood and concrete. The building is designed to engage the client’s passions for gardening, entertaining and restoring vintage Vespa scooters. The Vespa repair shop and garage are on the first floor. The second floor houses a home office and veranda. On top is a roof deck with space for lounging and outdoor dining, surrounded by a vegetable garden in raised planters. The structural steel frame of the building is left exposed; and the side facing the public side is draped with a mahogany screen that creates privacy in the building and diffuses the dappled light filtered through the trees. Location: Denver, CO, USA
THE CHALLENGE: Transform an outdated, uninspired condo into a unique, forward thinking home, while dealing with a limited capacity to remodel due to the buildings’ high-rise architectural restrictions.
THE SOLUTION: Warm wood clad walls were added throughout the home, creating architectural interest, as well as a sense of unity. Soft, textured furnishing was selected to elevate the home’s sophistication, while attention to layout and detail ensures its functionality.

The study on the raised platform is furnished with a built-in desk and floating shelving, above, with hidden LED lighting and a back-painted glass back surface. The small platform has enough space for a comfortable chaise and Ottoman for reading, while the new open railing allows for elevated views of the rest of the loft space and the street beyond.

The inspiration for the remodel of this San Francisco Victorian came from an unlikely source – the owner’s modern-day cabinet of curiosities, brimming with jars filled with preserved aquatic body parts and specimens. This room now becomes the heart of the home, with glimpses into the collection a constant presence from every space. A partially translucent glass wall (derived from the genetic code of a Harbor Seal) and shelving system protects the collection and divides the owner’s study from the adjacent family room.

The home office has evolved into an indispensable space that seamlessly blends productivity and comfort. Tailored to the demands of remote work or personal projects, a well-designed home office often features ergonomic furniture, ample storage, and efficient technology integration.
Thoughtful placement of desks and chairs enhances workflow, while strategic lighting promotes focus and reduces eye strain. The home office is not only a functional workspace but also an expression of individual style, with personalized decor and organizational elements contributing to a conducive and inspiring atmosphere.
As the boundary between work and home blurs, the home office emerges as a versatile sanctuary that fosters concentration, creativity, and a harmonious work-life balance.
