15 Stack your nicest cookery booksCookbooks are accessories that make a kitchen look appealing and useful. But do edit your collection – keep just one shelf’s worth and make sure each book is in good shape. If you don’t have a shelf, a small stack of cookbooks on the worktop will work just as well.Have you had to prepare your home for sale? What has worked or not worked for you? Pick a style or theme they’ll loveMake the surprise party a hit with the guest of honour by tailoring it to their tastes and preferences. If they’re fans of superfood salads, then whip one up, or if they love mezze then lay out a Turkish spread. They’ll feel so special and it’ll be a really memorable event.Style a scintillating soiree with these ideas

Introduce cheery textilesRoman blinds are a good choice for kitchens, and the ideal opportunity to boost a simple scheme with zingy pattern and lively colour. As a relatively small piece of fabric is needed, choose something a bit special that will bring a smile to your face every time you’re waiting for the kettle to boil.

Shrink it downYou needn’t always go big! Small surfaces around the house, such as this little area by the kitchen sink, can make a huge impact with just five minutes of styling from you. A handful of colourful cookery books, a mirrored box and a simple glass bottle have transformed this dead space into a main event.
