Effective kitchen design is the process of combining layout, surfaces, appliances and design details to form a cooking space that's easy to use and fun to cook and socialise in. Pairing colours can be a challenge - there’s no doubt about it. If you dare to be adventurous, purple presents a playful option for your kitchen interior. Cream tiles and cabinets work incredibly well as a blank canvas, which means you can be as bright or as dark as you fancy when it comes to using purple..

In order to bring this off plan apartment to life, we created and added some much needed bespoke joinery pieces throughout. Optimised for this families' needs, the joinery includes a specially designed floor to ceiling piece in the day room with its own desk, providing some much needed work-from-home space. The interior has received some carefully curated furniture and finely tuned fittings and fixtures to inject the character of this wonderful family and turn a white cube into their new home.

A custom bookcase for cookbook collection was built from recycled wood. Maker was found at a local home show in Portland. All furniture pieces were made or found and selected/designed maximizing height to accentuate tall ceilings. This 1990's home, located in North Vancouver's Lynn Valley neighbourhood, had high ceilings and a great open plan layout but the decor was straight out of the 90's complete with sponge painted walls in dark earth tones. The owners, a young professional couple, enlisted our help to take it from dated and dreary to modern and bright. We started by removing details like chair rails and crown mouldings, that did not suit the modern architectural lines of the home. We replaced the heavily worn wood floors with a new high end, light coloured, wood-look laminate that will withstand the wear and tear from their two energetic golden retrievers. Since the main living space is completely open plan it was important that we work with simple consistent finishes for a clean modern look. The all white kitchen features flat doors with minimal hardware and a solid surface marble-look countertop and backsplash. We modernized all of the lighting and updated the bathrooms and master bedroom as well. The only departure from our clean modern scheme is found in the dressing room where the client was looking for a more dressed up feminine feel but we kept a thread of grey consistent even in this more vivid colour scheme. This transformation, featuring the clients' gorgeous original artwork and new custom designed furnishings is admittedly one of our favourite projects to date!

The client’s request was quite common - a typical 2800 sf builder home with 3 bedrooms, 2 baths, living space, and den. However, their desire was for this to be “anything but common.” The result is an innovative update on the production home for the modern era, and serves as a direct counterpoint to the neighborhood and its more conventional suburban housing stock, which focus views to the backyard and seeks to nullify the unique qualities and challenges of topography and the natural environment. The Terraced House cautiously steps down the site’s steep topography, resulting in a more nuanced approach to site development than cutting and filling that is so common in the builder homes of the area. The compact house opens up in very focused views that capture the natural wooded setting, while masking the sounds and views of the directly adjacent roadway. The main living spaces face this major roadway, effectively flipping the typical orientation of a suburban home, and the main entrance pulls visitors up to the second floor and halfway through the site, providing a sense of procession and privacy absent in the typical suburban home. Clad in a custom rain screen that reflects the wood of the surrounding landscape - while providing a glimpse into the interior tones that are used. The stepping “wood boxes” rest on a series of concrete walls that organize the site, retain the earth, and - in conjunction with the wood veneer panels - provide a subtle organic texture to the composition. The interior spaces wrap around an interior knuckle that houses public zones and vertical circulation - allowing more private spaces to exist at the edges of the building. The windows get larger and more frequent as they ascend the building, culminating in the upstairs bedrooms that occupy the site like a tree house - giving views in all directions. The Terraced House imports urban qualities to the suburban neighborhood and seeks to elevate the typical approach to production home construction, while being more in tune with modern family living patterns. Mid-century modern dining chairs mingle comfortably with an urban-industrial fixture and embroidered window treatments with a modern tribal influence. The vivid colors of the glass art installation are picked up by the drapery fabric and chair seats, making these a bright and cheerful dining area. Pickled ash floors provide a light, simple canvas for the rest of the furnishings. Photo by Jeff Mateer | Studio West Photography.

Feature in: Luxe Magazine Miami & South Florida Luxury Magazine If visitors to Robyn and Allan Webb’s one-bedroom Miami apartment expect the typical all-white Miami aesthetic, they’ll be pleasantly surprised upon stepping inside. There, bold theatrical colors, like a black textured wallcovering and bright teal sofa, mix with funky patterns, such as a black-and-white striped chair, to create a space that exudes charm. In fact, it’s the wife’s style that initially inspired the design for the home on the 20th floor of a Brickell Key high-rise. “As soon as I saw her with a green leather jacket draped across her shoulders, I knew we would be doing something chic that was nothing like the typical all- white modern Miami aesthetic,” says designer Maite Granda of Robyn’s ensemble the first time they met. The Webbs, who often vacation in Paris, also had a clear vision for their new Miami digs: They wanted it to exude their own modern interpretation of French decor. “We wanted a home that was luxurious and beautiful,” says Robyn, noting they were downsizing from a four-story residence in Alexandria, Virginia. “But it also had to be functional.” To read more visit: https: https://maitegranda.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/01/LX_MIA18_HOM_MaiteGranda_10.pdf Rolando Diaz

After purchasing a vacation home on the Russian River in Monte Rio, a small hamlet in Sonoma County, California, the owner wanted to embark on a full-scale renovation starting with a new floor plan, re-envisioning the exterior and creating a "get-away" haven to relax in with family and friends. The original single-story house was built in the 1950's and added onto and renovated over the years. The home needed to be completely re-done. The house was taken down to the studs, re-organized, and re-built from a space planning and design perspective. For this project, the homeowner selected Integrity® Wood-Ultrex® Windows and French Doors for both their beauty and value. The windows and doors added a level of architectural styling that helped achieve the project’s aesthetic goals.

A masculine and sophisticated environment that reflects your travels and experiences, but it’s at the same time fun, vibrant, and unique. The common area (living, dining, kitchen) will be a party-ready environment that will have jaws dropping, but will at the same time satisfy all your every day needs. The bedrooms on the other side will be the sanctuaries, rooms with their own vibe, designed to help you relax after a long day. Finally the balcony will be fully furnished to allow you to enjoy it to the fullest, either privately or in company.
