SOUTH COOGEE - HouseContemporary Bedroom, Sydney

This master bedroom uses a blade wall to conceal a small hall that opens on to a walk in robe and ensuite making this master bedroom feel like it is an apartment all of its own. The recycled timber-look flooring was used on the walls to create that earthy feel. The concrete heavy lights hang from the ceiling as bedside lights and the pale grey accessories give the room a dreamy feel.

The finish on the wall is not the same as the floor - that would have been a bit too 'same-same'. So we mixed it up with a slightly different timber that played off the tones from the floor. This floor is a Krono Original Flooring - Super Natural Classic Laminate 8631 Castle Oak.

To fix this kind of finish to a concrete wall you would have to apply timber battens first or a plywood backing. This will give you something to adhere and nail the boards to. That would really transform a concrete wall!

Thanks for the compliment! The floor is Kronotex Mammut and it is really amazing quality. The other brand were floors that I used on feature walls. If you are looking for a product for your floor I cannot recommend Kronotex highly enough. It is marketed as a commercial grade engineered floor and it really is, the texture through it is beautiful and is textured to touch. This floor is over 4 years old and has no sign of wear and tear or scratches and it has had plenty of functions, kids and their activities and even office chairs rolling over it and still in great condition. The Kronotex Mammut is the first product that I would use again even over solid timber flooring! I hope this helps.

The floor is an engineered laminate floor. It is a stunning wide board with texture to the touch. It is commercial grade so wears amazingly well. The product is Kronotex, the range is Mammut and the colour is Capital Oak. A truly beautiful product!

Bring the bed out and create a closet in the back. No windows in back wall because its the north side.

The walls are actually a floating floor laid up on wall to give effect of recycled wood. See comments on how they did it.
