" Please confirm whether this is your own home? Yes it is
" Please confirm that you live in London? Yes I do
" Is this property owned or rented? Owned my me
" Where is this home (area) and who lives here? Walthamstow, me and my partner
" What did you do to the space and how long did it take you? I bought the house in 2001 and did some basic jobs like fencing and a few plants, and dug the pond myself, but never very much more, but 3 years ago I decided to dig up the grass and pave the garden with York stone cobbled circles with angled York Stone paths, and replant massively. I spent a couple of months on the hard landscaping and never stop buying plants so that is ongoing. 2 years ago I started to add the Garden Room. This is a key feature of the garden and got rid of the rotting decking and created an outdoor/indoor room to enjoy the garden with big sliding doors that disappear into the sides, I built this all myself so it took the best part of a year to complete.. I added Classical pediments to the sheds at the bottom of the garden as eye catchers each side of the pond.
" Who helped you with the project? A friend of mine David helped me to choose plants to suit my garden, and a builder friend helped me lay the paving, the rest I did myself.
" What's your favourite feature? The Garden Room for sure as it is really lovely even in the winter to have the doors open with the log burning stove keeping you warm.
" How much did it cost? Garden paving and planting etc cost about £5000 and the Garden Room cost £25000 (free labour as I did it myself)
