Oak flooring can be quite a predicament when it comes to the type of cabinetry used since oak is a very grainy wood and can skew somewhat yellow. We chose this dark espresso finish to accentuate the oak and allow it to become a cohesive part of the cabinetry, instead of a separate visual entity. It also has a stark contrast against the arabescato quartz surface which creates a great, crisp visual interest.
Over the past several years Susan has consulted with us on a number of smaller projects - color schemes, window treatments, lighting, furnishings, etc. In addition to the necessary head-knowledge for design, she has this amazing intuitive sense for color, contour, texture and sight-lines.
This was the 1st time we worked with Susan on a major renovation. We love to entertain and cooking is a passion. From our conversations she was able to capture a vision of our lifestyle and bring it out into reality. This new kitchen/dining area has completely changed the way we live in this house.
In the words of my client:
"Susan coordinated and oversaw all the details of the project, scheduling and negotiating with contractors, manufacturers, cabinet-makers and installers. Furthermore, the project was completed a few days ahead of schedule. It was as though no detail escaped her purview". client comment
