Wall Glazing; Faux Finishes

Mediterranean Living Room, Orange County

Wall Glazing.... Faux Finishes, Painted Details This was a fun project. This client contacted us after seeing us on an HGTV home design show. They had newly gutted their home and just finished installing exquisite reclaimed terracotta pavers from Spain throughout with the exception of this Livingroom, in which they installed a Mahoganey wood floor. They asked me, "What should we do with the walls?" We started with the kitchen cabinetry and changed it to a vibrant red to coordinate with the antique tile flooring. The walls we first textured with drywall mudd to cover up the ugly orange peel; they became a sunny tone of Spain. Details such as the shelf at the fireplace mantle, the entry pony wall and crown molding in the dining room became faux stone. The Dining Room ceiling became an ancient blue from a renaissance painting. The columns became very old. Our client was very happy! Please visit our project files for more views into what can be done in the backdrops of fine design with special finishes, faux painting, wall glazing, trompe l'oeil artwork, gilding, venetian plasters and so much more.
