Canvas Gallery

I've had the pleasure of ordering many original paintings from Canvas Gallery as well as coordinating commissioned paintings through them from several artists. These are all shipped from Toronto to my clients' homes here in Alberta. The experience is always very easy and enjoyable with lots of detailed photographs to ease any apprehension of purchasing original art sight unseen. The paintings always arrive without a hitch, safely secured in their crates and I have yet to have a client that isn't overjoyed when they open them up!

Canvas Gallery is all about Art and accessibility.. Whether a person is new to the art world and galleries, or is a more established collector-- Canvas is a mainstay. Purchasing art is a personal and too often times an intimidating or even pressured experienced. As a fledgling collector myself, a residential decorator and now film industry set decoration buyer, Canvas is the perfect fit. It’s somewhat untraditional gallery / showroom design immediately removes the austere and intimidating atmosphere found in some other gallery spaces. The space is conducive to viewing works (displayed on wall rails) with great natural light but, also allows for a hands on approach..in the same way you can enjoy time amongst stacks of books, or flipping through ‘old’ vinyl albums.. the rows of art against the wall allow for that same comfort and ease. The staff is warm, approachable, knowledgable and supportive —can give excellent direction or leave you to yourself. For me another excellent aspect is they have such a varied base of artists and clients there really isn’t anything they can’t find —whether you want to look at new and emerging Canadian artists or find work for a personal placement or search for a client or television show (most all of their artist’s works are able to be legally cleared for use in production, print and film) they understand it’s a personal and intimate process but need not be one mired in attitude and pretence.
