My husband and I moved to NOLA as empty nesters believing we would certainly downsize our living space. Well, that didn’t exactly happen. We found ourselves with a 5000 sqft Neoclassical rival mansion on a double lot with a 1300 sqft guest house and pool in dire need of renovation and restoration! This is how we met Leslie Raymond at Albert Architecture. It’s safe to say that our home was a daunting project. Everything about this home is large. The size of the rooms, height of the ceilings, overall height and scale of the house is grand. Every pipe, every bit of electric, etc., had to be replaced. Leslie took it all in stride and helped us bring this magnificent home into the limelight it deserves. The homes original elegance has been unearthed and now lives as a house of this century. The house has a chefs kitchen like no other, master suite with massive closets and bath, 2nd floor laundry, walls of French doors leading to the pool, summer kitchen, smart house, etc. We loved working with Leslie. She understood our wants and implemented them according. Our home is a show stopper, but also allows us to live and entertain comfortably. Leslie Raymond, a senior associate with Albert Architecture, a New Orleans-based firm, designed our renovation and addition to a 1950s cottage. Her excellent design transformed the cramped, dark interior into a bright, open, welcoming space. The sun room addition has a high shiplap ceiling and floor to ceiling windows that look out onto the spacious back yard, with plenty of built in storage, bookcases, and a small desk. The relocated kitchen is bright, beautiful, and very functional. The living room of the existing structure was updated with a coffer ceiling, and the original hardwood floors were renovated throughout. A spacious bathroom and walk-in closet were added to the master bedroom and the previously existing bathroom was reconfigured. A new HVAC system was installed, and the house was fully insulated. This plus the new double-paned windows now make the house comfortable in summer and winter. Leslie was also invaluable in helping us select fixtures, appliances, and paint colors. Leslie Raymond is a true professional--highly skilled, very knowledgeable, extremely personable, responsive to our questions and concerns, and has a lovely aesthetic sensibility. The end result of all of her effort is a house we can enjoy and be comfortable in for years.

We worked very closely with Albert Architecture on a major residential renovation and restoration project for a home on St. Charles Avenue. The project took over three years to complete and throughout the process it was pleasure working with Albert Architecture and Leslie Raymond, the lead architect on our project. Both the firm and Leslie are very professional, detailed oriented and excellent to collaborate and work with. We look forward to working with them again on any project.

Albert Architecture designed the perfect home for my family. They struck a great balance between cutting edge design and budget-conscious considerations. They understood what things were important to me, and designed options to meet my needs. The lead architect came up with several creative solutions to make our house unique yet functional (such as a laundry chute from the master closet, a laundry room hidden off the kitchen, extra storage under the stairs, and a huge kitchen with double islands that makes even the non-chef want to start cooking). I love giving tours of our home when new friends come over. I get compliments every time!

Leslie Raymond and Richard Albert designed the renovation for our home- a total restoration of the house which was built in the 1850's in New Orleans. The home had been in disrepair and neglect for many years. My husband and I were interested in restoring the home to it's former glory- preserving the beautiful original elements while renovating to standards of present day living. This was quite a challenge- design wise. From start to finish, Leslie and Richard paid attention to our vision, and produced spectacular results! Always available and ready to answer our questions, Leslie and Richard achieved our dream. The elegant touches that Leslie designed and collaborated with us to execute, have made our home first class in every detail.
