I'm so happy that a store like this exists and would never go anywhere else for building materials! Jason is the best-- he is so knowledgeable and helpful. We bought all of the materials for our home renovations through Amicus, with Jason always taking the time to explain things and help us choose what would work best for us. We truly appreciate his assistance and expertise.

Absolute Best Ever! Life-saver, only place I can find all safe, nontoxic products for house. There is nothing better! Had breathing problems for long time, because toxic chemicals in everything, -Until I found Amicus. Was able to paint every room in house, replace flooring, stain a lot of furniture with beautiful safe paint and stain -highest quality. I had so many questions how-to…, -the owner Jason -always has thoughtful answers, suggestions, I learn something every time I’ve talked with him. He’s a well-informed, problem-solver, good listener for what you need, level-headed. He knows what to do, always willing to help with many paint and stain colors I tried, he told me about how lighting in room effects color, or type of wood effects stain, type of brush/roller, different finishes, coverage, etc. He took time also -to guide me when I was pulling up old flooring, he even told me what I will need to clean and paint an old pool. -Every project I was thinking of, he gave insightful information what’s needed. The world needs these healthy materials -so that people and animals can be protected in the places they live. Thank you…Amicus for providing them for everyone.

It has been a pleasure working with Jason at Amicus. His knowledge of green building products and practices has been invaluable to trying to keep our whole house renovation + addition just that much gentler on the earth. He has kept track of myriad details about our purchases and delivery dates in the midst of the supply chain disruptions. His guidance on everything from kitchen cabinets to toilets to flooring to tiles to paint to lights has been so helpful. He gives us good information about when "going green" will add a premium to the cost and how much....but I have been pleasantly surprised at how often he can steer us to products that are both green AND not any more cost. We used Amicus Green and Jason for a kitchen renovation. Jason was able to steer us at every step of the process, from concept to finished kitchen. It was extremely helpful to have hands-on guidance and support through all of the steps - especially during a pandemic with supply chain-related delays, etc. The elements Jason suggested were really high-quality and the finished product is beautiful!

Our project involved full renovation of kitchen, bathroom, and powder room of a 1912 four-square. We found Amicus Green when looking for vendors of Icestone counters, but were thrilled with their green consciousness overall, their artistic aesthetic, their knowledge of product lines that we might not have known about, and their interest in problem-solving in our quirky old house. We initially decided to order kitchen counters and cabinets from them, but ended up getting backsplash tiles, much of our lighting, sink and fixtures, even reclaimed wood flooring, and used them for many items in our powder room and bathroom. We also let them order lots of items for us because their prices were competitive and they knew vendors. They even sent us to a great appliance salesman. Highlights include the gorgeous backsplash tiles and Icestone. Jason was very always responsive, and was especially helpful in dealing with suppliers under trying conditions of the pandemic.

Jason at Amicus is the best! We were looking to paint our house and re-do flooring with no toxic chemicals and vocs. He has done all the work already, narrowing down the best companies in each category, no matter what you want done in your home, and has so much knowledge on everything green, eco-friendly and nontoxic. I only live 20 minutes away, but had never heard or Amicus - I learned of him through the Degree of Green podcast that focuses on healthy homes. Jason can help with anything you need, from as small as a new faucet to as big as an entire home renovation - minus the formaldehyde! I would recommend Amicus 100%

Great place and knowledgeable manager! Bought a beautiful, all-natural, wool, wall to wall carpet floor for my condo and am very satisfied with the product. It's pretty, soft, and does not contain any chemicals or harmful substances, which was one of my top criteria when looking for an interior carpet. Jason at Amicus was most helpful in guiding me through the process of finding the right flooring and answered all my questions. What I appreciated most, aside from finding really great, chemical-free products, was that at no point did I feel pressured or not taken seriously concerning my wishes. Other flooring companies I visited were either extremely pushy in wanting to sell an expensive but lesser value product, or blatantly lied about VOC emissions. The shipping process was swift, the floor already arrived 5 business days after submitting the order. Felt in good hands at Amicus and would recommend it to anyone who is looking to buy eco and human-friendly materials and products.

After lots of research, and a helpful conversation with Jason Holstine, I ordered a 10 x 12 Earthweave carpet and pad. I could not be more pleased, and I appreciated the consultation with Mr. Holstine at Amicus Green Building Center. Mr. Holstine was easy to talk to and helpful. When I bought my condo, I was looking to get a few sustainably sourced items but was also reeling from the sticker shock of my home purchase and budget-conscious. Amicus was incredibly helpful in helping me select a gorgeous wool rug that won't show too much wear and tear and fit within my budget, and cut me a deal on having it delivered and installed! Jason also helped me select some fantastic EarthShade blinds and explained all the details and made sure the measurements were exactly right. I love the Amicus Green Building Center!

Working with Jason was awesome. He has amazing products and is so helpful. Extremely organized and responsive to any questions. We couldn't be happier with everything we got from Amicus. Our new bathroom looks great.

When we set out to re-do our kitchen, I wanted to try to do it in an environmental way, within our budget. The first contractors we talked to didn't know anything about environmental choices.
