I hired this contractor and he failed to finish the job. He only showed up at my house two days and then kept no-showing and missing appointments. He had a lot of excuses, but little project management skill. He didn’t refund money for work he didn’t complete and I actually finished the work myself. I caught him lying about pulling permit when he never did. I ended up pulling permit to stay in compliance with city once I found out. He had some excuse about needing a discovery period. I drew a sketch of site and filled out paperwork in 2 hours and city gave me permit within normal week turnaround, so there was no need for some extensive discovery. He also gave my key to a sub-contractor, which I was unaware of, and then three weeks after the fact I found out he never got it back, so I had no clue who was running around town with my key. After all this, I filed in small claims court and won. I have all the communications to back up the excuses and lies he pulled, so don’t make the same mistake that I did.
