Kenneth R. Reed, Architect

I have worked with Ken on a couple of occasions, he is very always very considerate and personable. Ken brings a wide range of experience to any project and delivers with practical yet elegant solutions. He is one of the few who still hand draws all plans!

I have known Kenneth Reed for over fifteen years, have reviewed his designs and viewed many of his competed residential projects in Boise. His design solutions are practical, creative, cost effective and exciting! He is knowledgeable of local City planning and zoning requirements and has good relationships with the jurisdictional agencies and city officials in Boise and the surrounding suburbs. Ken assisted me with the design of my own residence (I am also an architect, specializing in commercial design) and provided the design services to my firm for a project in Wyoming; a horse corral and multi-use building with residential apartments, tack room and support facilities. Ken provides a high degree of personal attention to all his projects and clients. He has excellent relations with local builders and contractors and as a contractor himself with a history of constructing many of his designs he has good understanding of construction technology. I highly recommend Kenneth Reed.

We have worked with Ken Reed on two projects. Ken was the architect for our 1100 sq foot addition to a Northend Bungalow. He did a fabulous job, even drew the plans by hand - an art piece for the new addition! We have had many compliments on the addition and many folks don't know it's not part of the original home. Ken listened to our concerns and provided exactly what we requested. We recently completed a small basement bedroom 'facelift' with Ken. He was the general contractor. This project was very easy with Ken on the job. Again Ken listened to our concerns, and provided great advice on issues that we hadn't considered. The room looks great. Ken is calm, reliable, thoughtful, and does a great job.

Ken consistently found solutions for us while working underneath the North End Historic guidelines. We couldn't be happier with the end result of our massive remodel and addition. Ken helped us design and construct our new home. This included demolishing of existing structure and the management of new home subcontractors. He was on the job site daily and always keep us informed about progress and provided many suggestions for changes to improve our final product. We had previously used Ken for a major remodel project and knew he would be excellent to work with. He truly cares about his clients and we all become great friend after our projects are long finished. He is dependable, honest, trustworthy, and has a great sense of humor. He has a great abilitly to help his clients through the oft occuring stressful times of the building process.

Ken provided a design consultation when we planned a major remodel of our home. He laid tracing paper over our house's original plan and sketched our ideas in pencil as we described them. He asked questions that forced us to clarify our vision and he made suggestions that dramatically improved our design. We're super glad we consulted him and recommend him highly.

Mr. Reed is an amazing architect and builder. Great attention to detail and pays especially close attention to needs and wants of the customer, but also pays attention to the budget. Highly recommended.

Have been involved with Mr. Reed on this and numerous other projects for a number of years ....this being the most recent at Boise Idaho. The provider is an architect who has assisted my company on many occasions. I would highly recommend him to anyone doing residential remodel or new construction that truly does go way beyond the abundant mediocrity seen everywhere.
