As a girl on the way to Grand Marais each summer I would see the mounds of taconite tailings ready to be shipped off on ore boats on lake superior. I was very excited to learn that Accent Elegance has found a way to change this potentially harmful Minnesota waste product into something of such beauty and usefulness. I love the iridescence, toughness and variety of Aurora Stone. I use my Aurora Stone platter for hors d'ouerves when I entertain. I am looking for a client to use it on their vanity because it is truly a unique surface.

We hired this company to make a unique tile for a very special project. They rose to the challenge of making melted taconite into the shape of Lake Superior! The image shimmers in the sunlight, changing colors and moods like the Great Lake herself! It's being installed into a table top for an outdoor application (on a bench) and we couldn't be more pleased with the results.
