Full Service, Residential and Boutique Commercial Interior Design. Specializing in high end home renovations and decor as well as new construction. Kenna Stout Principal + Design Director “I design spaces that strive to achieve a balance between beauty, functionality and imagination. My designs focus on the needs and desires of each individual and accentuate the unique qualities of the architecture they impact. Being present and aware in my surroundings allows me to find inspiration for my designs in every place and at every moment. Whether in an ancient house of worship, a crowded city street, or my garden: the environment is my medium, and every place tells a unique story. I listen to these stories and help my clients create their own through their environments. I am a proud member of a large creative family made up of artists, builders, carpenters, musicians, collectors, crafters and engineers. I feel fortunate to have been brought up with a determined spirit and working class values; values that led me to a deep appreciation for fine craftsmanship and natural, truthful materials. In my time outside of the design studio, I love to go exploring in the great big world and to try my hand at making things. Be it a healthy, delicious meal to enjoy with family and friends or a piece of pottery to serve it in, my path in life is to experience and create beauty whenever and however I can. The intent of my work is to assist my clients in making beautiful, enduring, high quality and healthy choices that they will love to live with for many years to come.”

Kenna designed our kitchen remodel in our 1911 craftsman. We were looking for a more practical way to use the space but keep with the style of the house. Kenna developed 2 options for us for the layout. She came up with options for fixtures and other finishes so that we could choose what we liked best. She designed beautiful cabinets. Her recommendations for the appliances were great. We loved working with Kenna because she was honest about what would work or not but let us ultimately choose everything. Kenna was able to envision the finished look and came up with colors that would work well together. In the end we have a beautiful, functional kitchen that fits the style of our house. We are extremely satisfied and highly recommend Kenna!

We have worked with Kenna and Jen on three bike shop build-outs. They are phenomenal, on every level. Their designs are charming and practical and beautiful. They educate us and help us to refine our own ideas for our shop's layout and look. They are kind and patient with us as we change our minds or come up with our own wacky ideas. They are smart and detail-oriented and precise. Their estimates are accurate and their pricing is very fair. You get high-end service with these folks, and for us, that is a value that only grows over time. Kenna designed our first retail space, in 2013. She and Jen offered invaluable retail design advice when we opened a temporary, second location after a gas main explosion leveled our first spot. Now, we are permanently housed in our third location, and every inch of this lovely place showcases the fine work of Brio Interior Design. If this place blows up, too, we are calling Brio for a third job. They are worth it.

I have only worked with Kenna once; however, it was a substantial job with 4 full bathrooms, a large kitchen and nearly 3,000 square foot of area to be completed. As the architect it was a pleasure to work with her on some design decisions and as the contractor I found her to be very capable, professional and knew her materials and details well. As owner of Jordan Valente Construction, I have worked with Kenna at Brio Interior Design on a few occasions. She is very professional and easy to communicate with. Kenna works with clients to keep the project moving forward in a timely manner and within budget. Clients always love the drawings she provides. It really helps them to visualize the new space and move forward with selections of finishes and fixtures. Kenna provides easy to understand and down to earth design ideas that allows for great cohesion between client, contractor and designer. This is critical to any successful project. Kenna mostly worked with my wife on a kitchen remodel as well as living space decoration. So while I can't speak in to much detail about workin with her, I have to say that the end result of all the time and effort put in to collaborating with is amazing. Mt wide and I have a kitchen that we absolutely love designed exactly the way we hoped it would be. For anyone looking for an interior designer with an eye for mid century modern our ultra modern, Kenna at Brio Interior Design is definitely for you.

Kenna came into our project as demolition began. She was able to refine and update our draft plans and add the character, symmetry and style we desired. Kenna has a great eye for pattern, texture, and color. She brought things to the table for us to use that we had never envisioned. I can't speak highly enough of Kenna, her talent, and the particular ability she demonstrated with my husband and I in helping us hone in on the "look" and "feel" we wanted for our major home renovation project. Kenna not only provided design guidance, but some architectural help as well. Though our project was fraught with complications that arose from hiring an incompetent contractor, Kenna's calm and over all dedication to our vision was essential in keeping the spirit of our project alive and intact in spite of that set back. Throughout the project, Kenna gave us every confidence that she both understood and could deliver our design goals. She provided several resources that we used in our decision-making processes, including drawings, swatches, and a Pinterest board which we consulted frequently. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Kenna's services. In fact, I have, and our neighbors have hired her for their kitchen renovation project as well.
