Benedicte Torrington Interior Design

Our project was a total home rehab down to the studs, therefore the restoration was complicated and needed coordination. Benedicte was amazing, she showed us everything from bathroom tiles and fixtures to living room rugs and paint colors. She listened to our vision of our home then researched different products and presented a plan with choices within the overall vision. Benedicte was always on time and if a commitment was made it was honored, a rare thing today. A total home restoration can be stressful but working with Benedicte was fun she made it less overwhelming. Our home is exactly what we wanted, we could not be happier and highly recommend Benedicte.

Working with an interior designer involves risk, it's somewhat of a jump in the dark. In our case, we had no experience hiring a designer. Compounding the risk was that we needed a whole house redone, every room, every surface, the works. Before we even hired her, Benedicte spent a lot of time with us understanding our practical needs, taking detailed notes on what each space needed to do for our rather large family. Benedicte also inquired about the intangibles - the feeling and emotional state we wanted out of each space. I tend to solve problems with facts and figures, so it all this talk about "feelings" felt like a bunch of touchy-feely designer speak. I was also suspicious this was an elaborate effort to sell us more stuff. To say that I was sceptical would be an understatement. However, my wife was certain that Benedicte would do a good job. We went ahead because, you know, it is important to keep our wives happy. The result is phenomenal, far better than I ever expected. Benedicte nailed the practical side perfectly, but more importantly that touchy-feely stuff... it matters! And the result is awesome. Our entire family enjoys and uses every space. The items selected are very unique, interesting to look at, and they work together well - functionally and aesthetically. On the administrative and project management front, Benedicte and her team excelled as well. The project came in on budget, the tradesmen were well coordinated, their work was inspected by Benedicte personally (woe to the craftsman who did not deliver exactly as instructed, I kind of felt sorry for those guys). Installation was impeccable, and included very creative, cool decorative items that completed the overall picture. I highly recommend you hire Benedicte and her team. You'll love the results. In fact, I'm kind of sad this project ended. I had more fun than I thought possible!

I have worked with Benedicte and her staff over the past year and it has been a wonderful experience. She is extremely dedicated and committed to every detail of the project! She spent time really getting to know me and my personal likes so that my place is my home, unique to my taste and lifestyle. She is also very professional, easy to work with and reasonable. We hired Benedicte to help us with our kitchen remodel. We have known her for quite some time and have always admired her work ethic and her "think outside of the box" design abilities. Additionally, with her charming personality, we knew she would be fun to work with. Benedicte was able to take our simple 50's galley kitchen layout and give us the open concept we so badly wanted for our family's lifestyle without compromising any of the original charm. She developed a floor plan that we would never had thought of and we appreciated her Ingenuity. She worked so closely with us on developing the overall design aesthetic and she really listened to what we had in mind for the style of our kitchen bringing much enthusiasm to the project. Benedicte put us in touch with highly professional contractors and worked closely with them and maintaining open lines of communication. Overall, Benedicte was a great designer with whom to work and she created a beautiful space for our family to enjoy for years to come.

I have enjoyed working with Benedicte. I won a design consultation from BTID at a silent auction and after the consultation hired Benedicte to design our home. We started with my sons' rooms and I am very pleased with the results. Benedicte is able to blend my ideas with her suggestions to create the perfect space. We will be working on the rest of the home over the next year, and I can't wait to see what she has planned!

I have had the pleasure of working with Benedicte (BTID) on numerous projects, and I am always blown away by her ability to assemble so many wonderful textures and textiles into beautiful masterpieces. More importantly, she knows the right people to build them. She has an uncanny eye for all things design. I highly recommend working with her to design your home/commercial spaces. In addition to her design skills her office staff is also very great to work with and very capable with CAD. This saves so much time and money for us as professionals, to have such an organized and well drawn set of plans and pictures to work with.
