Dave Burke decided to become an Architect for his own Design-Build firm after 30 years operating as the "Contractor" in Design and Build Development firms. He has been providing local businesses with complete turn-key services when expanding or remodeling their commercial buildings. He helps his clients take their projects from concept to completion. For most building projects the process includes everything from feasibility studies of the development, preliminary design concepts, processing applications through the regulatory gauntlet of most jurisdictions, preparing construction documents, obtaining building permits and building out the project to completion. Through his construction company, Burke Steel Buildings, Dave Burke provides affordable solutions for business expansion by means of custom designed steel buildings. Burke Design is a LEED AP, NCARB Certified and has architecture licenses in California and Oregon. He is known for his expertise in steel building design and construction and is a Varco Pruden dealer. Dave was easy to work with. He was fast, attentive, efficient and flexible. We like to get involved in our projects, and he allowed us to be very invested in our remodel/redesign project. We live in Santa Barbara City and therefore have to adhere to multiple codes. We converted our existing home into a legal duplex which took several years and concluded about 2013. The process was challenging and time consuming, but Dave was never discouraging and was always there. He was on time and affordable. We would recommend Dave to anyone needing his services. He also recommended a few contractors for us to review and they were all great. We would use him again if we have any other projects.

Dave has work the plans on a modular single level house with a site built garage. He was able to work the plans through the building department and revise plans and add details as required by the building and planning departments on a single family house with a 2 car garage. I would recommend him to by friends.

I have hired David Burke to oversee a major renovation project of two 1890's Victorian buildings were completely taken down to the bones then rebuilt with all new utilities, walls and of course fine finishes. I had 100% complete comfort knowing that David was using his many years of construction and design talents to do the job right the first time. I also hired David to design and oversee a 3 residential lot project in the hills above Santa Barbara. This involved designing 2 new homes and expanding one existing home. The project required street widening, storm drain construction, site grading etc. It was a very involved and difficult project. David did an excellent job. Trust is something that is earned over time and can be lost in a very short time. I trust David.

David Burke does it all! As a licensed general contractor and architect, he handles all the design, permit, and construction details for the job, and he provides detailed progress reports concerning variations from the original estimate, payments to date, and details of change orders. Burke has an impressive team of subcontractors which he coordinates with the needs of the project in order to ensure completion in a timely manner. On top of it all, Burke is good at explaining details and offering suggestions, and he also happens to be a very nice guy! I have no reservations about recommending his services.
