My experioence was wonderful. A great result, cost/benefir value exceeded my expectations and Barbara was a lot of fun to work with on my project. I have become a regular customer and love stopping in to see what new she has created! I found out she had much a much better gtasp of what I wanted to accomplish with her craft than I did. I have gotten a lot of compliments on her work and proud to have it in my home.

Barbara finds the most exquisite fabric for her craft and is meticulous in her attention to detail. Her work is a significant piece of art in our home.

Just visited the BZDesign studio - what a lovely collection of handmade furnishings! I purchased two items: a beautiful hand embroidered linen table runner in a fabulous shade of indigo, and a long red silk scarf (which can double as a narrow table runner). All BZ Design items are dyed with natural dyes and the workmanship is extraordinary!

Barbara Zaretsky creates timeless fiber pieces that add subtle color and a calm quality to interior spaces. I greatly admire her ecologically sound approach to the silk fabric she uses and her dyeing/printing techniques. Her palette and her minimalist designs for pillows, table runners, wall hangings, etc. are at home in many interiors, from a modern environment to a more rustic setting.

In each of her creations, Barbara brings to life a beautiful home accessory, a work of art, a gorgeous textile and a visual feast. Her craftsmanship is extraordinary and there is a tranquility in her works that adds to the spaces that they ultimately embellish.

My goal was to find an example of local handmade art to take Japan to give as a gift to the Japanese family my son would be marrying into. As a native of Asheville, North Carolina, I was looking for something that would speak to them of my son's home. Barbara of BZDesign was very knowledgeable and talented and I knew when I met her that I would see a finished product that was created in a very painstaking way. I wasn't able to give her a lot of lead time, but I knew what I wanted and she took the project and very confidently ran with it. The result were beautiful handwoven, dyed and printed linen wall hangings that were perfect for displaying in a Japanese home. My son's new family was very pleased and so was I.

Three years ago I was given two of Barbara's fabulous pillows. They are still the centerpiece of my bedroom. Barbara's elegant and contemporary design and the quality of the product stand the test of time.

My husband and I walked in on Barbara's studio and instantly knew we were going to find something stunning for our home. Her pieces are inspired - modern and easy - her fabrics so soft and understated. We ordered a custom runner for our dining room table that sits there every day; it is not only elegant but rustic too. We love it. Her pillows sit in my office and make me smile every single morning. I visited BZ Design on vacation and it was a highlight of our trip. I special ordered some silk pillows that were shipped to my home. The deign and colors are beautiful and look stunning in my sunroom. I am pleased with the quality, durability and the unique design.
