CHARLES LETHABY LIGHTING

Charles Lethaby has taken the world of lighting design by storm since launching his small business back in September 2014. Starting out with one-off bespoke commissions and partnerships with small interior designers, his first real breakthrough came just 12 months later when luxury British women’s wear brand, HOBBS, selected Charles’ Elara light for its 2015 Christmas window displays. More than 350 illuminated and non-illuminated versions of this iconic pendant were commissioned and hung in all major UK HOBBS branches including its flagship store in Covent Garden. Charles is now stocked internationally in leading design stores such as Heal’s in London, ECC in New Zealand and Archetypal in Hong Kong. In his earlier life, Charles was an award-winning teacher of art, sculpture and 3D Design in London schools. In setting up Charles Lethaby Lighting, he brought to fruition a decade’s worth of dreams, ideas and ambitions.
