Commented: Refinishing kitchen cabinet design/color help?I would stain the cabinets darker and replace the counter top with a light solid surface. Look at something unusual for the Island counter top like Pewter and change the hardware to brushed aluminum.

Commented: HELP! Need to finish living roomCoffee tables would look better if they were refinished in an Ebony sheen. The shapes are good.
I would paint out fireplace wall in dark gray and hang an oversized gilded mirror over mantle.
