Hire this man at risk of your deposit. In Feb 2022 Jesse took a deposit for making a custom desk. After many excuses and no evidence he'd actually started I asked for a deposit refund in Sept 2022. Now 8 months later he still has not fully refunded my deposit despite his repeated assurances that he would send the balance "next week". In my experience he is simply not trustworthy.

Avoid this man. Ten months ago he took a deposit for a piece of furniture he said would take 8 weeks to make. Now, three months after asking for my deposit back, he still owes me the lions share. The man is good at excuses, but not at follow through.

Jesse agreed to make three pieces for my family from an heirloom piano. 12 months after taking our deposit, tearing apart the priceless piano and being 10 months over due per contract, we have no pieces, no piano, and nothing but excuses.

We contacted Crafthammer Designs about creating a outdoor patio table for us in June 2021. We got in touch with Jesse Wood the owner, designer and fabricator. He told us he was able to create a fire table for us for $3,500 and wanted us to pay a deposit of $1,700 and also $740 for the fire producing element he would purchase from his distributor to use for the fire table he would create.
He sent us a hand-sketch drawing of what the table would look like and a contract. He also sent us his Venmo info for us to pay the 50% deposit and amount for the heating element. Total of $2,440 was paid to him via Venmo.
Over the course of 1 year, he has given us excuse after excuse as to why he hasn't been able to deliver or create the table. We have evidence of all communication via text and emails. We asked for a refund as we have not seen anything produced for us and it has been over 1 year now. He has stated he will refund us. We spoke with him and he agreed to refund us by a deadline which has passed. We have not seen the refund and he has stopped taking our calls and not returning texts.
This is a scam and he is a fake contractor.

Buyer Beware. DO NOT ENGAGE THIS PERSON FOR SERVICES. I have a legal settlement (small claims court settlement) with Jesse and he has not paid the settlement. He states one thing and does not follow through with his promises. He is untrustworthy. I probably will never see the legal settlement and he has to live with his own conscious.

Jess is very creative but also tends to be a bit flaky and not precise enough. He makes beautiful things but the cost goes up as he underestimates the work involved, tends to measure once cut twice, and there are delays and often complications. He has created some damage to property as he worked on a few projects and insists on fixing himself, whether he has the expertise or not. It’s too bad because he is very artistic, creative and facile with different materials. Try him for a smaller project and see how it goes.

We hired Jesse in July 2021 to do a concrete countertop for our main bathroom and gave him a deposit. He said it would be done in 30 days. Over six months later, we've received lots of excuses but still no counters, and not even photos of anything in progress. He told us he would return the deposit, but at this point it's been weeks and we haven't received a penny. Super frustrating, since now we don't even have our deposit to find another contractor to finish this job!

Buyer Beware. DO NOT ENGAGE THIS PERSON FOR SERVICES. I have a contract with Jesse Wood to build/install concrete countertops in my newly renovated kitchen. He requested a 50% deposit upfront, paid by me in Venmo. He then rescheduled measuring the cabinets several times and finally showed up and told me there would be a seam in the countertop (which I did not want at all and would not have agreed to have him build if that were the case) but he assured me it would be filled with epoxy, not visible. He measured for approx. 10 minutes. I then did not hear from him and he did not respond to text or emails for weeks.. He 'ghosted' me so much so that my inspections and the electrical had to be canceled/rescheduled three times, making up all kinds of stories and excuses why he could not show up. When he finally arrived with the product one of the 3 pieces was 3/4" longer than the other 2. When I asked him about fixing that, he told me I should cut the wall and push the piece into the wall or live with it. He then got quite rude when I asked him about fixing it again and I had to ask him to leave-- he left the countertops on my lawn on 2 pieces of wood. When I finally got him to return, several weeks later, he agreed to trim the longest piece to match the other 2 pieces, and came back a week later for install. This entire time he was threatening to sue me, place a lien on my house and bullying me if I did not pay him the balance in cash and in advance. I never did NOT agree to pay him for work so his responses were astounding to me. I agreed to pay him in cash, as he requested, but only upon return/install, not in advance. He returned to install and I paid him $1400. After he left I saw he used gray silicone caulk (photo 6)to fill the 1/4" seam (at center of counter) and it was already pulling away day of install. And there were several holes and (3) gash marks in the counter that caused bits of concrete to fall away and create a rough, terrible looking product. He did not caulk between the counter where sink flange, exposing my ply cabinet top to water and rot. There are many hairline cracks (photos 1,3,5) around the sink hole that became very visible after the faucet was installed and used- although you can see them before full install/before he cut faucet hole (photo 1). The piece with the sink hole is bowed and won't sit flush (ph. 2, 4) on ply top. All three pieces of counter are different thicknesses, off by 1/4" to 3/8" inch, so even if the bow was not there, there is not way for the counter to be level (seen in photo 2). I asked him to repour the slabs. He won't. Now he is claiming that I did not pay him the $1400 + the $60 extra dollars I paid his son -- unasked -- for helping his dad 'install'. Jesse continues to be rude, resorting to name calling. I had to block his texts and will only allow email now. Use a reputable, ethical contractor.

Jesse is not only a wonderful person but an extremely talented artist! I ordered a desk from him and had some very specific requests. He listened and delivered better than I could have imagined.

Wow! Hired Jesse to pour us some hand troweled custom concrete countertops for our new farmhouse. Wow! Awesome work. Even better than expected. Great quality and awesome communication between the company and myself. I highly recommend.

Jesse built an amazing farmhouse style trestle table for my husband's 50th birthday. I sent him several pictures of the style of table I was interested in--he took the qualities I liked from each and designed a beautiful piece. He found some reclaimed wood with a history, and ultimately came up with a finished product that both my husband and I love. He even accommodated some unexpected changes I requested. Thanks for the perfect birthday gift, Jesse!

I hired Jesse to create a custom outdoor potting table and sink for my wife.
Jesse was able to create a beautiful design and build it our of cedar and concrete. He even found a faucet with a rabbit to add some character.
The best part is custom wording he cast into the sink... "Barbie's Garden."
