For over 35 years Joe DeShayes has been designing and building award winning landscapes in the Tri-State area. Utilizing a background in Landscape Architecture and years of practical construction experience, Joe has found that form follows function and that most importantly spaces must work to achieve a client’s objective. The best way to meet the clients objective is through a well thought out plan that can be as simple as painting out bed lines, marking plants for removal and renovations, and indicating where new plantings will go; to as complex as a detailed master plan. "I wanted to take the time to thank Joe DeShayes for over 10 years of successful play on our DeShayes Court. I coach nationally ranked AAU basketball teams and have been using the court for coaching and training since it was installed in 2006. Since then, both of my sons received college basketball scholarships, countless others I have trained have received college basketball scholarships, and there are even a few future NBA prospects. The court has always been in great shape and still is due to the yearly service provided for 10 years. Still, if I ever need anything for the court or any other outdoor services, I know Joe is just a phone call away. I would recommend DeShayes to anyone looking for a residential basketball court or outdoor recreation of any kind."

We had our basketball system installed incorrectly. It was an absolute nightmare. Our children were very disappointed. I came upon the DeShayes Dream Courts website and contacted Joe to hopefully help us. Right off the bat I could tell that he was a man of integrity and character. Without blinking an eye, he gladly accepted the job. Within a week of contacting him our basketball system was installed. The techs at DeShayes were incredible, curteous and clean. Our basketball court is now the neighborhood favorite thanks to DeShayes. I would use them again in a heartbeat. Professional, upstanding businessman who loves his job and does beautiful work. DeShayes is worth every penny and you will not be disappointed.

Our basketball court was installed 10 years ago and has hosted up to 30 middle schoolers (yes, all at once) on many occasions over the years. My children are grown, but the court still gets heavy seasonal use by neighbors and locals. I have always been impressed with the prompt and complete service of the court each year. Every Spring, the DeShayes staff shows up to perform maintenance work without my prompting and without charge! Additionally, if I contact them with a request for a repair, they return the call promptly and complete the repairs within the week. If you are considering putting in a court, I would not hesitate to make DeShayes your choice.

I asked Joe for a landscape design for our driveway to include a regulation basketball hoop with paint for a foul line and 3 point range, as well as plantings that would keep our property aesthetically attractive from the curb to the back yard. The challenge was to work with the space we have, township regulations and existing plantings of our own and border plantings of our neighbors. Joe was extremely knowledgeable about all facets of our requests. He contacted the township regarding permit requests and kept us apprised of progress. Scheduled appointments and work were completed on time. We are extremely happy with the outcome and would highly recommend Joe DeShayes Residential Resort Design.

We hired the DeShayes Company immediately after we purchased our home to redesign the entire outdoor living space. We ultimately found Joe DeShayes to be creative, knowledgeable, innovative, punctual, reliable and, obviously, professional. When Joe and his team did our outdoor patio and kitchen area it turned out even better than he projected on his blueprints and computer generated images (which also looked pretty darn great). Joe has managed many other projects for us as well, including large landscaping projects and preparing a playground area with drainage system for a very wet area of our property. He doesn't cut corners, he is very thorough, and he does quality work that lasts. Joe has a knack for giving people what they want even when they are not able to properly express what they want or know what is available. We will continue to use the DeShayes company for future projects and have highly recommended him to our friends.

They are consistently professional and handle everything, from design to clean up. Joe DeShayes has excellent design ideas, but really works with the client to produce their vision. The plants are very high quality, and always guaranteed. DeShayes' staff work quickly and are meticulous with clean up. They have done landscaping, hardscaping, and clean-up for us, and even transformed our backyard into a beautiful setting for an at-home wedding.
