About Us

Pamela Smith is the principal Designer and owner of DesignSmith Interiors in Rye Brook, New York, founded in 2002. She frequently writes as Guest Editor and Contributor for interior design magazines, Westchester Home and Creative Home. Pam's love of languages and cultures has taken her to four continents for design inspirations. Originally from Atlanta, Georgia, Pam brings her polished southern wit and charm to every gathering, helping to create an atmosphere of artistic enthusiasm! DesignSmith Interiors provides a personalized & comprehensive plan to make your dream home a reality. New colors, new perspective, and an opportunity for change. We're here to help you realize that dream house, to see that vision you have through to concrete, absolutely fabulous reality! We'll take the helm and successfully navigate you through all those tough design decisions and endless choices of fabrics, furniture, wall coverings, paint finishes and colors. At your initial consultation appointment we'll evaluate your project, discuss it's challenges, fully explore your needs and desires, and establish your budget. At our next meeting we'll show you our proposal, iron out any pending concerns, settle on the color scheme and other major facets the room's design. Once we have your stamp of approval, we'll get to work!

Pam and Jeanine helped us to create a new combined family room and kitchen. Their contactors were excellent as were their design skills. We couldn't be happier with the result

Pam and Jeanine were a pleasure to work with. They were patient and understanding, and listened to our concerns. They were always considerate of our input when making design decisions. They had great, unique ideas for improving our space both from a functional and decorative viewpoint. We love how they redid our fireplace mantel to accommodate our television, and completely change the look of the room.

We’ve had a great experience working with DesignSmith. We did a master bathroom renovation as well as some renovations to our master bedroom and hallway. Jeanine had suggestions that expanded the storage in our very small bathroom and made the room function better and feel bigger. The changes we made to our bedroom (some of which we wouldn’t have thought of without Jeanine’s input) made the room more welcoming, comfortable, and elegant. DesignSmith has a great crew of contractors who are timely, meticulous, knowledgeable, and who clean up nicely at the end of each day. Everyone we worked with at DesignSmith was extremely professional and responsive and a pleasure to work with!

This is the second time we have used Pam and her team from DesignSmith Interiors. The first was to stage our previous home for sale. Because of Pam's vision, it sold quickly and for a great price. Now we are renovating our new home and once again Pam and her team have outdone themselves with a vision for our home that we could never have dreamed of. From colors, door styles, moldings and more Pam has turned our new home into a dream home. I would highly recommend her services to anyone wanting to turn a home into a home that not only matches your lifestyle but with cool design elements and functionality as well.

Jeanine is a pleasure to work with - friendly, responsive, prompt, and has a brilliant eye. She was flexible - understood us needing to shift our budget midway. She's helped us envision a kid-friendly family room and a grown up bedroom.

I can not say enough good things about the team at DesignSmith. This is the second project for which I have used their services.. The first was a bathroom renovation. This project was much larger It involved updating my master bedroom and bath, my kitchen and family room. Their design suggestions were spot on and they did their very best to always secure the lowest prices without sacrificing quality. I could not be happier with my new rooms! When the project was nearly finished, we had a lose pipe which caused extensive damage to areas that had just been completed and then some. Jeanine came to my home as soon as I phoned to tell her of the situation, cleaned up the area with the contractors team and handled everything. I would highly recommend Pam, Jeanine and Tracey for any project small or large.

Working with Pam and her staff was a delight. She was always responsive, replying quickly to our questions and addressing our concerns in a thoughtful and responsible manner.Her sense of design is top notch; she will challenge your ideas and allow you to challenge hers until the optimal design solution is achieved. She was sensitive to and respectful of our budgetary concerns Her associates were most helpful as well. Pam coordinated very well with all the vendors, making for a smooth work flow. We are very happy with our completely beautiful, new kitchen!

We hired Pam and her team to help with the renovation of two bathrooms in February 2017. The renovations were long overdue and, while we had some ideas, we needed inspiration. The results exceeded our expectations and will certainly add value to the house. Pam is very easy to work with. She and the team are professional and extremely responsive to any questions or concerns. I would definitely recommend DesignSmith Interiors.

The DesignSmith team are a pleasure to work with. They have helped me with multiple projects over the last 10 years from paint color choices to overhauling and redecorating whole rooms. They are thoughtful, good listeners and take the client's wishes fully on board before finalizing a design plan. They often think "outside the box" which is refreshing and shows their creativity. I would definitely recommend using DesignSmith for projects small and large.

Commented: dimentionsYes, thats what I meant. Its about 7-7.5'. The table itself is about 4' and then you need space either side including the depth of the banquette cushion.
