Living Earth Designs

We were so excited to hire Dustin to help us re-imagine our backyard and patio. With the promise to "think outside the box" and his ideas of edible gardens, we decided to spent twice the amount of the other designers that we interviewed. Low-lights: - Dustin said that this whole process would take 4 weeks. After our initial interview, we waited. And waited. Long story short, it took 8 weeks. Now, if this delay was the only problem we had with Dustin and we felt like the wait was worth it, we would have given him 4 stars. - The plans he sent were inaccurately measured...by up to 8 ft in places. They also use inaccurate language to describe building materials. - His hardscape (walls, patios, pergolas) designs were so uninspired and poorly considered. In addition, the plans are not clear so you can't actually use them for construction drawings. - Bad communication/poor listening - The plan he had at our initial interview was essentially the plan he had at the end. Highlights: - His plant selections are interesting. If all you need is someone to select the plants, Dustin is good. The only truly positive thing I can say that after finding that the plans were inaccurately measured, Dustin came out promptly and corrected the mistakes. Frankly, while I think Dustin is a good plant person, I just think Dustin doesn't know how to run a business. So disappointed with the process and the product, we have a hard time getting excited about the remodel.

Dustin and the folks at Living Earth did a fantastic job both designing and installing landscaping, lawn, driveway, and walkway in our front yard. They were very creative but not averse to tweaking things to our liking. We love it so much we will have them back to do the backyard. And we can't wait!

Dustin turned a very simple idea we had for our backyard into a beautiful outdoor living space that is both modern and functional. We had a dirt pit and he made it a sanctuary, bamboo included. Thanks, Dustin!

If you’re looking for a permaculture or sustainable landscape design, Living Earth Designs is the one for you. The design we received within 2 weeks exceeded our expectations. Dustin included all of the things we wanted, plus some details that we hadn’t thought of. His plant recommendations and knowledge were very helpful, Not planning to move any time soon, but would definitely use them again!

Dustin really knows his stuff when it comes to making small yards livable and usable. My postage-stamp-sized lawn just sat there for years, but now, it’s a living space that I enjoy in every season. The custom-built fire pit that Dustin placed has become the focal point of my yard.

After deciding to put down roots in Colorado, we realized we were sitting on a potentially sustainable and fruitful property. We purchased a couple books on permaculture, determined to do this ourselves. Quickly overwhelmed by the task at hand, we contacted Living Earth Designs. We honestly don't know what we would have done without Dustin. We NEEDED his knowledge and expertise to move forward with our project. He drew up a beautiful, easy to follow design for the entire property, including a phase plan. He is passionate about what he does, and makes himself accessible to his clients for questions and property walk-throughs. Highly recommend hiring Living Earth Designs!

Dustin was proactive in reaching out to me as he knew my passion for Mid-Century Modern Design and he wanted to help on one of my projects. After we met we felt comfortable enough to let him have shot at our new primary residence which is set to be a flagship for the MCM neighborhood. We had a lot of materials already selected and a pretty good idea of what the front and courtyard should look like, but the back we were completely lost. Dustin took our ideas, asked for a few more pictures of where our inspirations came from, and he went to work. A week or so later he came back to our home with one of the most stunning drawings I have ever seen. He kept everything we had already wanted, and then added in his thoughts, ideas, and design. As well as created the plan for a backyard oasis that we knew we wanted, but couldn't quite visualize. He asked what needed changed-and without hesitation we told him- it was perfect. In addition to a design that was exactly what we wanted, he built the deck in the courtyard. Dustin, again, did work that was absolutely impeccable and we are still in awe of the detail that he put into every part of the deck. In addition, any little hiccup that he found- he came to me to present it, but always had a solution to solve it. It made the whole process extremely smooth and seamless. From making you a design from scratch, to expanding on your ideas and bringing them to life, Dustin and Living Earth Designs is . His passion, knowledge, and dedication are unmatched.

Thank you Living Earth Designs! My backyard looks like an HGTV commercial now! We are so thrilled with Dustin's work on our backyard last summer. We went from a dirt lot with a splintering deck to a masterpiece! He installed a brand new, lowered deck, a brick patio under a gorgeous pergola, and a kids' wooden teepee with climbing holds, along with all the plants and shrubs and pathways, irrigation, 2 raised gardening beds, and cemented poles for shade sails. His design was artistic, creative and practical. We were able to install hammocks into the pergola and we gave the garage back wall a pop of color to bring it all together. We've since hosted many parties and play dates and all our guests are impressed. He was very good about communication and scheduling from beginning to end. His workers were efficient and professional. Dustin was a true perfectionist and didn't hesitate to have something re-done if it wasn't just right. The work was done in a timely fashion and with extra attention to every last detail. To this day we can count on him for any questions, we have learned a ton about landscape maintenance, and he even fixed a leaky balcony situation over the new deck when we realized that would be a problem in inclement weather. Dustin is a talented craftsman and a true professional, returns calls and texts quickly, meets deadlines, and goes above expectations when it comes to the quality of his work. I highly recommend him and his company, if anyone deserves your business, it's him!
