This was my second time using Expressions for a project in my home. My first was a fireplace/mantle/built in bookshelf project that I used as a test to see if I liked their work. That project turned out so good that I decided to use them for a large kitchen remodel. The kitchen remodel involved a complete tear out down to the studs and rebuilding, to include moving plumbing and gas lines. It was a big job. The crew encountered some unanticipated challenges along the way but worked with me to resolve them without significant added expense. This was a 4 month project and the finished product is absolutely stunning. I thoroughly enjoyed working with the crew (particularly Hil, Roger and Miles) and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to friends and family.

I hired Expressions General Remodel for my master bath remodel in October 2017. This was to be a fairly extensive remodel, including enlarging the shower, moving walls, plumbing and adding electrical. The project was estimated to be over $23,000. I was initially impressed by Miles who represented the company professionally and assured me that this "family run business" would do a beautiful and professional job. Please see their website for photos and compare to photos posted by customers. It quickly became evident that this company is not well run. There exists a complete lack of communication between team members; Miles, Janeth and Arnold. This created constant chaos, confusion, frustration and mistakes. Janeth (partner) who is responsible for ordering, shopping and invoicing, and Arnold (contractor) repeatedly failed to communicate plans, details, or materials needed. Janeth repeatedly failed to answer simple questions or respond to emails. She provided little guidance or assistance but added a great deal of confusion and frustration. There was little regard for finishing touches or quality workmanship. Errors made were disregarded with no accountability. When Arnold placed the wrong tile order to trim the shower and shelves within he blamed the mistake on the homeowner stating no such tile exists. Without so much as an apology or calling the tile shop to inquire about the right tile, he demanded I order the tile. I then received a harassing email from Janeth stating I was the cause of the delays and costing them a lot of money. To make matters worse they are now demanding payment for their mistake! Promises to repair or replace poor workmanship were ignored. Beautiful wall paneling was laid improperly, with partial boards at eye level, while full boards were hidden by wide baseboard. The plumbing in the shower is crooked. The floor tile is not centered in the entranceway as they started tiling from the back to the front. The pipe from wall to toilet sits so low that it would be impossible to place a scussion plate on the wall without sitting partially on the baseboard. What I deemed unprofessional conduct, threatening and intimidation tactics were repeatedly employed by both Janeth and Arnold to hurry the job along. Yet day after day workers wouldn't show up as promised or leave as soon as they arrived stating they didn't have the materials necessary to continue work. When inquiring how much extra it would be to replace the bath tub Janeth replied "it could be offensive for some people to talk about price for something they wish to have." After being advised by Janeth and Miles to order an under-mount tub, Arnold stated I should have gotten another type of tub. Janeth repeatedly accused me of adding on more work, yet only one change order exists dated before the project commenced. Details were disregarded or overlooked. There exists absolutely no supervision of workers, repeated inability to reach Arnold by workers and myself. Workers complained daily about the lack of clear communication, direction and ordering errors made by Janeth and Arnold. I paid an extra $1729 for tile yet have enough left over to re-tile the entire floor and twice the amount of shower pan tile. I could no longer tolerate what I considered unprofessional conduct, harassing and intimidation ploys and thus the job remains unfinished and I do not have a usable master bath. In writing this review I hope to spare another homeowner the unpleasant and unprofessional experience of working with this company. I definitely would not recommend Expression General Remodel. In my experience they proved not to be a professional, reputable, reliable or honorable business.

Expressions General Remodel renovated two of our bathrooms. The crew they assembled was impressive, and they did the best tile work I've ever seen. The process went according to plan, the timing went according to plan, and the pricing was accurate.

We would like to thank you for the excellent work done on our master bathroom and walk in closet remodel. We really love the way everything looks and I know it took a lost of hard work and planning from you and your team.

We have been very satisfied with our kitchen remodel done by Expressions General Remodel. From start to finish, they did a very good job. They were professional, timely and reliable. They were very detail-oriented, and addressed our requests for modifications/revisions during the course of the project. Within less than four weeks, they gutted our old kitchen, completely re-wired our electrical system and brought it up to code, they moved the refrigerator, oven, cooktop and dishwasher, installed new cabinets, countertops, and backsplash. The workers were very friendly, always on time, reliable and professional. We would hire them again without any hesitation.

Expressions General Remodel provided a work estimate for a master bath remodel, which included new shower, tub, sinks, vanity countertops, and cabinetry. Their cost estimate was very reasonable. However, I'm awaiting some other cost estimates to ensure they are making a fair offer for the work to be done.

I just had my kitchen remodeled by Expressions. They were great to deal with and my kitchen is beautiful. I highly recommend them. What they quoted us was what the project included, and they even put in a floor at the last minute. Their workers were very good, and if a problem arose, they fixed it immediately.

Unfortunately, we had a very poor experience with Expressions General. While they did do a good job installing the downstairs flooring and painting the family room, the carpet and the carpet installation on our stairs and in the upstairs rooms was less than satisfactory. My feet were continually being poked by the carpet tacking on the stairway. In the upstairs hallway the installation produced numerous seams (see photo). In the master bedroom, in particular, the carpet was laid in two separate directions, so that it appeared as though there were two separate carpets. Additionally, when Expressions General came back to fix a seam in our master, they cut out a piece of carpet which had been used to support our elliptical, which created an new ugly seam resembling a doormat (see photo). Overall, the carpeting aged extremely quickly (we had the carpet less than a year) and when an independent inspector looked at the carpet he said it was of low quality. Expressions General told us it was a grade used in commercial buildings. Finally, in our master bathroom they installed a shower door, which was poorly sealed causing large water puddles after every shower. They came back once to fix the seal, but they only replaced the seal with the same cheap material, which begin peeling off after a few weeks (see photo). The bottom line was we were forced to hire firms to install a new shower door correctly and to install new carpet upstairs and on the stairway. This cost us an additional $6,500! While, Expressions General did not have the quality of carpet that we ended purchasing, they did offer to install any carpet we bought, but after their initial and subsequent installations, we decided we would pass and go with a firm that specialized in carpeting. We cannot recommend Expressions General for anything except laying floor and painting. It was a costly mistake on our part.
