About Us

Award winning consultant structural designers Winner of the 2020 LABC Awards South West: Best Individual New Home. The Hide, Bude, Cornwall Foulkes Jackson Fewings Ltd offers a comprehensive and individual service throughout Devon, Cornwall, Bristol and Somerset that encompasses the many aspects of structural engineering design. The practice engages in a range of projects in the domestic, agricultural, commercial and public sectors. The range of work encompassed in these sectors is highly diverse. In particular however we have developed substantial experience in domestic design work which typically involves new build property, extensions, loft conversions and external landscaping works such as retaining walls.

I have been working with FJF over the past 2 years and I find their service to be second to none. Their drawing packages and calculations are easy to follow and well laid out, their customer service is excellent, and I believe that their pricing is very reasonable. I will certainly continue to recommend their service to my clients.

I am Chartered Building Surveyor who specialises in the preparation of Planning and Building Regulation applications for domestic and small commercial projects. I therefore regularly use FJF Ltd for a wide range of structural design solutions. Both myself and my clients have found the services that FJF Ltd provide to be considered and pragmatic at a reasonable cost. The staff are also quick to respond to instructions and queries. I would have no qualms in recommending FJF Ltd.

Recently I have work closely with them on a project and have been impressed with their attention to every detail, their professionalism and Ben and Toms understanding of how things work on a building site. FJF are thorough and flexible in offering structural solutions to support the Architecture and Design ambitions of our clients. The design information produced is up to date and of a high standard so enabling an easier and accurate transition into construction information. We value our working relationship with Tom and Ben and look forward to continuing this on future projects.

I am an Architectural Technologist and have worked with Foulkes Jackson Fewings on numerous projects ranging from small domestic extensions to larger new build/refurbishment projects over a lengthy period of time. I have always found their work to be of excellent quality incorporating practical design solutions,the work being carried out at reasonable cost to my clients. All the staff are extremely friendly and approachable,and are always happy to deal with any queries which may arise on site.

A young but very knowledgeable and experienced team I would highly recommend. I've hired them for 2 different projects, both of which required major load bearing walls to be removed and associated calculations and drawings drawn up. Both jobs ran smoothly thanks to the detail and the extra effort they put in to ensuring all important factors were considered for building control and the contractors. Always happy to answer any questions and provide advice where needed, I won't be considering anyone else for any future project.
