Fraser Garden Design

We used David Fraser to re-design our front garden. We were particularly attracted by the full service of design, implementation and project management. At the design stage David was very good at responding to our personal preferences and reflecting these in his planting plans. Conditions during planting were at times very hot and challenging but this didn't stop David rolling up his sleeves personally to deliver the project. Now in its second year, the design has come together well and is looking really good.

Our patch of garden is on a slope, has a large shed and two water butts. It is not a regular rectangular shape; it has a wall on one side and panel fencing on the other two. It faces east. Apart from a narrow strip of paving near the house and a paved path from the house to a back gate on the north side of the garden – the side that got all the sun – it was laid to grass. We asked David Fraser if he could come up with a design to maximise the sunny areas of the garden, provide interest and to give us places to sit outside and enjoy the sun. We were delighted with his vision for our garden and the planting plan and asked him to go ahead. The first thing we had to do was move the shed! David project-managed the works and demanded a very high standard in everything that was carried out. He had his finger on the pulse at all times and maintained an enthusiastic and charming manner throughout. David has an excellent understanding of plants, where they should be sited, their colours and how they fit together to make a pleasing display. We feel confident that he will continue his interest in our garden as it develops and that he will be happy to give us advice in the future, should we need it. We are delighted with our garden and would recommend Fraser Garden Design.

I would highly recommend David. He met our brief completely and helped us to create a garden we would never have envisioned by our selves with some really unique touches. David is really creative with space, givings us a structure that makes our garden seem so much bigger than it was and with lots of different interests. He gave us lots of helpful hints and tips to keep the garden maintained. In just a year our garden has exploded with colour..

We had a very small space with an odd shape and awkward levels and were at a bit of a loss as to how to deal with it. David was a marvel in how he cleverly teased out our 'wants' and 'needs' and distilled them into a fabulous design which we instantly fell in love with. He also project managed the works and his constant attention to the implementation and strong focus on quality and problem solving was much appreciated. David is enthusiastic, knowledgeable and hard working; and was always open to us making changes as we went along.
