Mrs. Ortiz, I wanted to take a moment to respond to your post. First, let me say that I am sorry for the difficulties you have had with your home. Beyond that, I have to take exception with the facts of your post.While it is true that your home is 6 yrs old, I feel your comments about the workmanship of our company are false. You stated that there was "one thing after another" yet actual specifics mentioned were centered around stucco issues and resulting water damage. Mrs. Ortiz, if workmanship was the issue, it would have presented itself much earlier. In our closing orientation forms, we are very careful to state that roof maintenance is key.Included in that maintenance is the inspection of parapet walls. These take direct sun and need to be inspected and maintained annually. Cracks can and do start to form and will let water in. Once that happens, the damage to sheetrock, stucco, etc.. just compounds. Those are the facts of owning a home in the desert.
Here is the part that you forgot, perhaps innocently, to include in your post: You had extensive hail damage to your home in the recent storm that we had. When that occurred, your insurance company paid to repair the damage to your roof and the areas of the stucco that had been damaged. You stated to a representative of our company that you did not want the stucco to be "patched" and your insurance company would not pay for extensive stucco work beyond the damage done by the storm. You chose to go beyond what your insurance company deemed necessary, and have a large amount of stucco work done. You did not call me until after the fact and did so in an attempt to recover some of your costs. This is not the responsibility of Bella Vista Custom Homes, nor would it be the responsibility of any home builder.
We undertake many additional projects for past clients. In every one of those projects, one thing is consistent: The client calls us, we come look at what they want to accomplish, we enter into an agreement, then complete the project. Whatever it may be. Just last week, we completed a total tear off re-roof which was necessitated by the earlier mentioned hail storm. In this project, we not only replaced the roof, but repaired damage to parapet walls, sheetrock, paint, the rock wall and even the deck of the swimming pool. The insurance company had approved the home owner for a specific amount and we represented the owner to the insurance company in that the proposed amount was not enough to properly fix the damage. The insurance company re-evaluated and approved a larger amount to do the repairs properly. We could have done this for you if you had called us prior to starting any repairs. Once you entered into an agreement with another contractor, there was nothing that our company could do.
Again, I would like to state that I am sorry for the difficulties that you have recently faced regarding your home. As for the rest of your statements, respectfully, there is just no truth in them.
