About Us

Green Facade Systems was founded with one primary focus in mind: to create one-of-a-kind architectural exteriors with a modern aesthetic. GFS specializes in designing, fabricating, and installing what many clients have dubbed "cool siding" but what we in the industry refer to as architectural cladding systems. Our work is highly-detailed, clean-lined and designed completely around you. Whether you love the clean-lined look of large expanses of smooth metal or prefer the natural beauty of wood, GFS specializes in taking commercial grade architectural products and applying them to high-end residential projects in a highly detailed fashion. We install a wide range of rainscreen systems such as aluminum composite (ACM), wood composite , porcelain, and high-density fiber cement. Manufacturers we work with include: Alpolic, Reynonbond, Prodema, Parklex, American Fiber Cement, Cembrit, Fibre-C, Marazzi, Cosella Dorken and many other high quality architectural product manufacturers.

Green Facade Systems performed an exceptionally professional fiber cement replacement for the front of our house. The Owner, Jon Stephen, managed the project well. His staff was respectful and professional. The job really looks great. They took extra time to even things out, fix things that weren't perfect, and really make the front of our house look like new. While they had the scaffolding up, they also caulked a few spots that were unrelated to the job, which was extremely helpful. Really great work, Green Facade. The only downside was that the project was extraordinarily expensive, but to their credit, they met the quote originally provided and even presented a few options to cut the budget on the margins. I'd enthusiastically recommend this company based on our experience.

I have been using Green Facade Systems for refinishing my Ipe House and keeping it looking fresh and new for years. He also has done some quality flashing work for me. Jon has been very easy to work with and has a lot of experience with Ipe. His crew is respectful and work hard. I would highly recommend him for exterior work on your house or building.

It is always a pleasure to work with Jon; he is very knowledgeable about the sheet metal industry and the components he buys from us. Jon is a skilled craftsman who is very involved with each of his projects. His installations are meticulous and precise. We pride ourselves on fabricating top-notch products and are proud to have customers like Jon purchasing and installing them. His attention to detail and care for the outcome of his projects is evident in each project we see.

Becker Architects has executed several projects with Green Facade Systems and all of them have them have turned out really well. Jonathan Stephen is very-detailed oriented, produces great shop drawings and has extensive experience on rain screen systems like the kind his company installs. His attention to the minutiae during the planning has benefitted our clients in countless ways. The high quality fit and finish of his installations is quickly apparent to anyone that sees his work up close. He's the go-to guy in Chicago.

Jon and his crew performed outstanding work on the metal capping for our project. Most contractors we had bid the job tried to steer us toward using the cheapest and easiest products to work with. Only Jon focused on providing the correct solution for the given application. As a result, we are still thrilled with the results almost 3 years later. All of the other capping on similar buildings in the area pales in comparison to quality of our frond facade. These guys really are experts in their field and I would highly recommend them to anyone in need of exterior cladding work.

Jon and his guys do exceptional work. I hired his team to install exterior paneling (oko skin) and a custom curved metal roof on a residential home. The work demanded great detail in every aspect of their work from the drafting stage to the installation stage, making sure all materials fit together properly. Jon has a great eye for detail and is a real team player when working with other trades on the job, I hope to hire him and his team on future projects.

I have worked with Jon from Green Facade Systems of Chicago for some time now. He has an extensive knowledge base on many different levels and has provided CGD with invaluable advice. His Architectural background has propelled GFS to another level and throughout the years his experience has made them "THE" name in the Chicago-land's Architectural cladding systems, both business and residential. It is evident, GFS's work is in high demand as they work with some of the most recognizable Architects and custom builders in the region. GFS are meticulous about his installations and of product selection. I usually don't rave over companies but I can say with confidence that GFS is by far, notably one of the best interior/exterior cladding companies In the Midwest.
