About Us

Greg is a licensed architect specializing in single-family residential work. He has a Bachelor of Architecture degree from the University of California at Berkeley, is a registered architect in Massachusetts and California, he is NCARB certified and also a LEED Accredited Professional. With 30 years experience in residential design and an extensive project list with many satisfied clients, he is passionate about creating beautiful and functional spaces that maximize the potential and value of the site and house. Additions are designed to be compatible with the existing structure and with functional floor plans. Renovations are planned to provide efficient and economical use of existing spaces, with particular emphasis on solutions for specific problems. New homes are designed to be contextual with the site and surroundings, and responsive to functional needs and aesthetic preferences. All designs respond, ultimately, to the client – your needs, your wishes, and your dreams.

We hired Greg Rapp at the earliest stages of our project to add a major addition to our vacation home. He helped us conceive the project, provided guidance on balancing design theory and practicality and ultimately provided a first rate set of initial plans. Greg was imaginative and, when we requested changes or additions, very flexible in helping us get to the final plans. He was especially helpful in working with the builder to bring the project to completion. He was extremely efficient and timely, and we never had to follow up about the production of the initial plans or changes that we discussed. Greg is great to work with and got along very well with all of the other players on the project. We couldn't have done this project without him.

To whom it may concern In 2009, we purchased a two family home in Newton, MA, and developed our plan to convert this property into a single family home. We interviewed five different architects and decided to hire Greg Rapp to help us with our architectural planning and design. He was Excellent !!!!!!! He spent time understanding our needs as a family and was able to translate these needs into an exceptional design. His plans were detailed and complete. He was always available and prompt with any questions that came up through the entire process. He worked very well with the structural engineer and contractors that were employed in our project. I can only give him the highest reccomendation :)

Greg Rapp is not only an excellent architect, but an extremely thoughtful and gracious person. He is a great listener, and paid close attention to the (sometimes idiosyncratic) wishes of my husband and me; he also was able to explain and clarify his decisions and design concepts in ways that we were able to understand. He worked well and easily with our GC, and was a great liaison with Timberpeg. He worked efficiently and kept the process moving in a timely way. Greg was always able to come up with creative solutions to design problems that we could not figure out. He was patient, good-humored, and easy to be with. We could not recommend him more highly. Unfortunately, the wonderful, unique, personalized house that Greg designed for us between June and December 2011 was never built - shortly before the day of ground-breaking, my husband had a stroke. All plans were suspended, and a few weeks later we cancelled the project which was a huge disappointment to everyone.
