My partner and I moved into our Tom Greico designed and built house 2&1/2 years ago and couldn't be happier! We bought a creek lot in the white rock lake area of Dallas with some design challenges and wanted to embrace the creek side nature with the design. We met with Tom and within weeks he had designed exactly what we were looking for. Tom has an incredible eye for design and style and in our case really connected with our desire to work with him to deliver exactly what we wanted. I love that you can spot a Greico home when you see it, but everyone is different, interesting, and beautiful. "Hats off" to a very talented guy!

When I started the journey of buying a house in north Dallas I looked at a lot of properties. I wanted to sell my 120 year old house in Knox Henderson neighborhood and move close to the tollway and 635 due to long commute to Frisco every day. I wanted to take a mide century modern or ranch style home and make it a modern home - with true simple modern architecture. I looked at so many houses and none would allow me to purchase and then afford the extensive remodel to make it a unique mid century / modern home. I came upon a house that Tom Greico was building in Midway Hollow while I was looking around the neighborhood. I saw the sign, got the details and looked him up online. After looking at the featured homes on his web site I decided to reach out. We met at a Starbucks on Northwest Highway and I was hooked on the idea. So from there I set out to sell my house and find a lot. The process of finding a lot was hard and its even harder today. I found a few different lots I fell in love with and Tom went and looked at them and gave me advice on "build-ability" of the lot compared to my wish list. The build itself was good, the communication was good as we had weekly on site meetings. There were a few problems along the way but they were all handled quickly and amicably. The only thing that I would advise a prospective buyer is that you need a clear committed vision to what you want in a house. You will be asked to decide the exterior finishes and once you commit you are locked down. You need to have a clear vision of what you want in interior design, appliances, sinks, showers, tile, wood etc. It all has to be decided early on and committed to for a smooth build. You need to run the budget models to see if you can afford all of the things you want to do. In the end the only thing that took longer than I wanted or expected was the punch list. The big things were addressed quickly, but there was a long list of smaller things that took some time. That being said, Tom is a great architect and a great builder. He is friendly, great to work with and collaborative. Not only do I love this house, I have people coming to my door and asking me questions about it 3 years later. I not only recommend Tom, I hope to build another house with him, perhaps something smaller for later in life or something on a lake (if I can get him to build a house that far away). Building this house with Tom was a great experience and my house has skyrocketed in value. I recommend Tom to folks who have a vision of what they want and need a partner to make it happen.

Tom built our dream house. He is totally flexible in meeting our needs. We asked him to make significant changes in the width of the balcony, where doors go and many others . He totally made it happen and within budget. If there is an opportunity to work with him again I will do it in a heartbeat! We interviewed many builders and architects before we went with Tom. We were totally correct in our judgment. Recommend him highly!

Tom Greico worked closely with us to design and build a great house that fits our lifestyle perfectly. His business style is to spend a good deal of time in the design phase with his clients to get a feel for how they live and their expectations. He explains his process very well up front and throughout the many phases of the construction. The software he uses allows clients to visualize in a 3D view of what the home will look like prior to the first drawings. He uses other cutting edge software that allows clients to see what work has been completed daily on the building site complete with images. He is well known for his modern homes in the Dallas area and while many of these very linear style homes are being built at a rapid pace in North Texas his homes have a unique look to them. We were very impressed with the whole process with Greico and found him to be a great value given he is both architect and general contractor.

Where to start? I hired Greico Modern Homes to design and built a custom home for me and my family in the Fall of 2015. Tom and his team were professional, knowledgeable, and responsive throughout the design and construction of our home. When hiring someone to build a custom home it is important to hire someone that is skilled at design and has vast experience in the construction process; many times this means hiring multiple professionals, i.e. architects, general contractors, and subcontractors and so on and so forth. Fortunately, Tom Greico is a licensed architect and also operates as the general contractor when building your home, so that is a huge benefit that saves time and money. That being said, one of Tom's greatest strengths would be his design sense. On our particular home, we gave Tom approximately 6 big picture must haves/requests for a home. Tom was able to take those requests and design a home that met our needs as a family while delivering a beautiful home to boot. Finally, Tom has a great personality and is extremely easy to work with, which is also important because you will be working closely with him for several months.
