Grub, Inc.

I hired Grub Inc to remodel my bathroom earlier this year. They started in mid-January & finished at the beginning of February. After they finished, I brought up a couple of issues that needed to be fixed, such as: a gap between the floor & toilet, grout cracking & peeling away, loose floor tiles & uneven tile edges. Tim (owner) agreed to fix them. When he sent someone out (August 19th, 2022) to fix the issues, the worker replaced 2 loose tiles but didn't fix the gap between the floor & toilet. He also installed the pencil trim as edges around the tub & shower which came out horribly (45-degree angle cuts in corners were cut wrong & pencil trim wasn't set evenly). I reached out to Tim to let him know what issues weren't resolved & how bad the pencil trim was (provided pics). He responded back telling me he would sue me for slander if I reached out to him again. I hired a different contractor because they saw other issues (noticed wall tiles put up first then floor tile - this would cause water issues down the line, noticed a good amount of lippage & noticed they didn't put Durock down on the floor) on top of the issues I brought up initially. They said the only way they could resolve the issues was to start from scratch. As they were doing the demo, they noticed other issues: floor & wall tiles not being back buttered, and a lack of Red Guard being applied to the walls to provide sufficient waterproofing. There was a good amount of mold on the subfloor around & near the toilet. The contractor provided me with a report & pictures. I sent an email to Tim asking for a full refund & providing him with the report plus other supporting documents. His response to me was that I was a liar and it was my fault for the issues (I have proof that supports my claims). If I reach out to him again, I would be sued for harassment. Overall, I don't recommend using Grub Inc., because of the bad customer service and the unprofessional workmanship. Whenever you bring up any issues and/or concerns, they'll say they'll fix it, but in the end, they won't. Instead, they'll threaten you with lawsuits and blame you for the issues and/or concerns.

Just had my laundry room redesigned by Grub and I couldn't be happier. Everyone from the designers to the installers were helpful, professional, and very competent. Communication was the best! I highly recommend them.

I had Grub come in to re do my bathroom in my basement. I wanted the tub removed and a stand up shower put in. They did this with no issues. The crew was there every day they said they would and Tim communicated any delays with materials or labor. Knowing the schedule and time line took a lot of stress off the project. They added a bench and cubby holes in the shower which I never thought of, but I am very happy they recommend it and installed it. I am very happy with their work and recommended them to family and friends.

We chose Grub Inc. to install flooring at our school and are very happy with end result. Good communication and flexible.

This is the second project I hired Grub for my house. The first project was installing a slider and based on the quality of work did not hesitate to contact Grub when I was looking to finish my basement. They made the process very easy. Listened to my ideas, provided professional feedback and a very reasonable quote. The work was completed in the timeframe they committed to and within the budget we set while communicating through the entire project. Not only would I recommend Grub, I plan on using them for a future remodel project.
