Java Construction did an amazing job on my primary suite remodel. The project included a sitting room, bedroom and primary bath (complete tear out and renovation). Steve and Austin were very professional, timely and responsive throughout the entire project. They and their team went above and beyond to complete this significant job with quality workmanship and in an expedient manner. I recommend them highly and would hire them again.

We used Java Construction for a room addition which was done last year. The owner, Steve, is great to work with—always on time for scheduled meetings, very easy to contact, always called us back promptly, kept us informed during the process, very honest, and an excellent guy to work with. His son, Austin, provided great support when needed. The construction site was always kept nice and neat. They supplied excellent follow up to take care of any problems that arose after the construction was completed. We highly recommend Java and would not hesitate to use them again.

We are currently in the middle of finishing our basement with Java construction. The main reason we chose to work with them was their pricing transparency and competitive bid. They use great sub contractors and all have been very professional and clean up after themselves. So far the project has been moving at a fantastic pace with anticipated completion before Christmas. Java is very responsive and easy to get a hold of.

We used Java construction on a remodeling job of our first floor. This was approximately 1600sqft. Steve and his team were amazing with time frame, knowledge, pricing, and listening to what our family needed. When completed everything was exactly how we wanted and surpassed our expectations. If you're looking for someone that is honest, professional and detail oriented then this us your guy.

We used Java for a full kitchen remodel in 2021 which was really nice, though supplier issues prolonged things. The bathroom remodel Fall 2022 did not. Steve was great to work with and very involved for the kitchen remodel but his son Austin ran the bathroom remodel which had issues. In Fall 2022 we used Java again for a straight forward upstairs full bath remodel. Steve's son handled most of the project and lots of issues came up, most resolved except for 1 and a couple not resolved fully. Their subcontractors (which tend to be the more expensive ones in Louisville such as Dauenhauer and Corrigan) left a mess in the bathroom, adjoining laundry room, adjoining bedroom, steps, and even outside in multiple locations. Austin did some cleanup a couple of times after it was brought up, but there was still drywall mud between flooring boards, on the washer and dryer, steps, etc. We had 2 areas where grout and thinset were dumped in the backyard grass which I had to deal with. Our oldest's bedroom and laundry room have a layer of drywall dust throughout from no precautions being taken to avoid it. The biggest issue was Dauenhauer did not install the shower valve to the correct depth so ~1" of valve is exposed between escutcheon and handle. Austin had a supervisor come talk with us about it and said "some do that" which is not a real answer from a plumbing contractor - you set it correctly for what is being installed. Austin was completely silent during the meeting and was not on our side. I'm currently redoing the valve install. This is a standard 2x4 wall, 1/2" cement board, and normal subway tile. Nothing special that required installing the valve as far forward as possible. Austin needs to pay more attention and ensure the subs do what is expected of them. I won't be using Java again unfortunately.

We wanted to finish our basement with the same quality and craftsmanship that the rest of our home has - Steve Hartung and Java Construction did just that. High quality work, on time delivery and on budget completion. I had some unique design ideas and Steve’s team was able to deliver exactly what was designed. We love our basement - it feels like a wonderful extension of our home and not a basement!

My husband and I purchased our home. My husband is a Retired Army Veteran that is disabled. There were some VA specifications that we needed in the home. Steve with Java Construction was professional, nice, and responsive during every phase. He listened to everything that was needed for my husband to be able to move around in our new home. Anytime I needed to connect with Steve by calling or text he responded and answered any questions I may have had. Once they were finished, it was as though we had a new home. The whole team that worked with Java Construction was very polite and helpful as well. We would highly recommend Java Construction for any renovation and especially working with any veteran.

Steve is a great guy to work with! I was able to see the "before" of a large project he completed, and couldn't believe the transformation when I came back. His work is excellent! Very professional!

Steve has built two houses for me and has done other projects. He does great work and does what he says he is going to do on TIME. He is really a hands on type of builder and he will always take your phone call or return your call as soon as possible. I would hire him again. Bobby
