I have nothing but the highest praise for Carrie Fundingsland of HOUSEplay Inc. She literally came into our project when it was down to the studs, and right away saved me from making a major (& costly) mistake in master bath renovation planning. Initially I was not sure I needed a designer, but her insight at critical steps along the way proved to be spot on. Our tiny (42 sf) master bath had to be quickly but carefully planned. I THOUGHT I knew what I was doing because I had done some remodeling & I'm addicted to HGTV, Houzz & Pinterest. But apparently I don't have the gene that allows me to properly visualize the end result, and that's where Carrie came in - to gently guide me through multiple decisions - never "taking over" but rather helping me to ultimately arrive at what turned out to be good decisions in a timely manner. Because the master bath was so tiny, there was NO room for error. For example, she helped guide us in selection & layout (placement) of: fixtures, tiling for shower, floor & walls; shower drain, windows, built-in medicine cabinet, lighting; vanity (purchased @ Houzz btw) & perhaps most importantly, helped us maximize storage in such a small room. She guided us in all these decisions, and we are MORE than thrilled with the result. Now everyone who sees our new bathroom wants to live here, no exaggeration. It is truly lovely - looks like a "pamper me" spa bathroom at a high end hotel. We hired her mainly as a consultant, to help us when we needed professional guidance & when we had questions. She was just the right mix of helpful when we needed help but not "taking over" and thereby allowing the plan to evolve organically. At first, I was reluctant to hire her as I had previously had a bad experience with a designer, but I am so glad we hired Carrie and would hire her again for any future project requiring design guidance. Carrie was a lifesaver during our extensive house remodel. She designed the kitchen and helped me choose paint colors and flooring. She made decision making easier by helping me define my style and guiding with her own impeccable taste. Carrie is a pleasure to work with.
