Jacqueline James Handwoven Rugs

Jacqueline James specialises in making individually designed and limited collection handwoven rugs and wall hangings for distinctive interiors. She enjoys collaborating to create bespoke weaving commissions for private clients, interior designers, architects. Her work is in public and private collections in the UK and USA. Major public collections include weaving for Westminster Abbey, York Minster and the Jorvik Viking Centre. Each weaving is custom made in Jacqueline’s York studio using British rug wool, cotton and linen. She employs a variety of traditional weft face rug weaving and custom dyeing techniques to create work which is both decorative and functional. Constructed as durable floor rugs, their colourful and vibrant style make them suitable as wall hangings.
