new makers bureau is a London-based RIBA Chartered Architecture Practice focused on making environmentally and socially sustainable buildings for the common good.
We make buildings which tread lightly on the earth. We consider the finite and precious resources we have and deploy them with thought and care. In our projects we use less, and better than that - we make more with less, using less carbon in a building's lifetime whilst working toward using none. We value re-use, adaptation and retrofitting, and are holistic in our approach to being sustainable.
We make buildings with passion and purpose. We make work that expresses the joy with which it has been designed and celebrates the process of making, paying attention to materials from the way light bounces from them to caring about the way they meet. We make our own materials through invention, hybrids and experimentation. We make buildings, prototypes, drawings and models of all types, shapes and sizes. We are active participants in the building of our buildings.
We work together with our clients, in a spirit of collaboration and through a process of hands-on workshops, dialogue and discovery, understanding the value of the process to the end result. We believe imaginative, environmentally conscious architecture is a positive force for good.
