Jan Hendzel Studio

Jan Hendzel Studio is a furniture design practice with craftsmanship and sustainability at its heart. With a background in engineering, pattern-making and more than 15 years experience in furniture design and manufacture, studio founder Jan Hendzel directs a team of skilled makers and designers. We love making furniture. And we do our utmost to bring a beauty and distinctiveness to everything we make. We cater for all aspects of design and fabrication – from initial concept to final installation. Projects start with us listening to ideas and bringing them to life with sketches and samples. Our drawings are then detailed and digitised and once approved, fabrication methods are tested and agreed, along with samples of textures, timber and final finishes. We specialise in using reclaimed timbers and English grown hardwoods, using traditional woodworking methods as well as contemporary digital processes, allowing us to make single bespoke commissioned pieces as well as batch process extensive ranges of furniture. All our work is carried out in our spacious, light-filled workshop in Woolwich, South London. We encourage clients to visit us, to see examples of our work and meet the team.
