J. Donald Felix has been working with copper since the age of fifteen, starting as an apprentice. Twelve years later he decided to start his own business as an artist, creating handmade copper weathervanes and sculptures. Don acquired the skills needed to hand form copper without the use of molds. Don has earned a reputation for reproducing antique weathervanes. As a wildlife enthusiast he also creates nature's creatures in copper with his own unique style and is able to give "life" to his weathervanes. Don also follows nature in his copper wall sculptures, depicting natural scenes with a fine balance of trees and grasses. In addition, Don creates hand pounded copper sconces and traditional copper lighting.
