My story: I have been designing kitchens and custom built-in cabinetry in the central NJ area since 1978, starting out as a draftsperson at Superior Custom Kitchens in Warren NJ. From there I moved on to Fresh Impressions Inc. in Somerville NJ where I worked for 17 years as my duties expaned to supervising the drafting dept., project management, design and sales. During this time I won numerous design and sales awards, and in 1987 earned my certification from the National Kitchen and Bath Assc. (NKBA) as a Certified Kitchen Designer (CKD). In 1996 I left Fresh Impressions to manage the kitchen and custom cabinetry dept. at Imaginative Design Center in Bedminster NJ. Here I was solely responsible for the entire estimating, design, and management of many various high end custom cabinetry projects. During this time I was twice awarded the regional 1st place kitchen design prize in the prestigious Sub-Zero / Wolf Design competition. In 2003 it was time to move on again, this time to venture out on my own and establish J Kennedy Design. Having built great working relationships with a number of excellent custom cabinet makers over the years, I am now able to offer my customers the best in true custom, American made cabinetry and built-in furniture at the most competitive cost. I can also provide excellent quality stock, and semi-custom cabinets, to fit every budget
