We found Dave and were happy we did. We needed to design and execute our entire back yard at once and did not like the idea of hiring a landscape architect who was attached to a landscape company. This also allowed us to bid out to multiple contractors once we had final designs. Dave paid close attention to our budget and needs as we had a particular drainage issue that had to be accounted for. Dave is passionate about his work and was involved through the entire process. We couldn't be happier with the results.

Working with Dave was a great experience start to finish, and his vision was perfect for our space. What was once an eyesore has been transformed into a space that is inviting , romantic and beautiful, and has really extended our living space in ways we never thought possible . This has been the best remodel that we have done and I highly recommend Dave if you are looking for someone who is really interested in what you want to achieve. A million thanks Dave !!

Dave transformed our totally unused backyard into our favorite "room" of the house. He deftly developed designs that incorporated our priorities and preferences without sacrificing longterm success. Our yard is beautiful and we couldn't be happier.

He has a great knowledge of plants, and does a nice job suggesting a variety that has different colors throughout the year. While we were planning, Dave was always available and engaged. Once we were ready to start, he got us in touch with an amazing landscaping company that put the plans into reality. Great experience and a good guy.

Dave was a pleasure to work with. He really took care of us and the needs of our house. He put together creativity and functionality and helped us to regrade our front and back yards and also to incorporate our ideas of a front and back living space beautifully. He liaised with the landscaping company to make sure everything was done well-from the concrete to the plant selection.

Dave is incredibly talented and a joy to work with. He transformed a dirt pile into an artful outdoor sanctuary. My yard is honestly my favorite part of my entire house. It is the only reason I don’t move!

Dave was an absolute joy to work with. He quickly understood what we were trying to achieve in our small backyard and made it a reality! He really helped us home in on the crucial things that needed to be addressed (use of tiny amount of space, privacy from overlooking office building/car park, exposure to the sun) to make you want to spend as much time in the yard as possible. He did a great job helping us be realistic about what was possible within our budget but also highlighted where small additional expenditures might be work it to give the space the premium feel we really hoped for. We’re not the kind of people to stand back and not express our taste/opinions and there were still plenty of decisions we had to make along the way (what they say about a yard project being more complicated than a new kitchen is definitely right!). But with Dave to guide us we always felt comfortable in the decisions we made. The fact that he had no financial interest in the actual construction gave us a lot of confidence in the impartiality of his advice. Dave was generous with his time and regularly went the extra mile for us. Just one example was designing a custom table that our contractor fabricated when we couldn’t find a table that we liked and fitted the space.

Dave took the time to learn what we really wanted for our outdoor addition to our home. He was an excellent communicator and he tenaciously shepherded our project to completion. The result was a beautiful and thoughtfully designed and constructed outdoor living area that exceeded our expectations.

Dave is the best! My house is a mid-century house that had a rather plain yard. Dave designed a beautiful, tranquil setting that lures you into the yard and makes you want to stay there. It also blends beautifully with the design of the house. Dave is a great person to work with and has wonderful ideas!

We were extremely satisfied with Dave's work for us, which was completed in June of this year. The architect for our house had done the hardscape plan for retaining walls and patios, but Dave was more than willing to step in and do a landscape plan for us within those existing conditions. We had several design "wants" for Dave to accomplish, and he did so quite well and creatively. In fact, we had several "why didn't we think of that?" moments. He's good! We had two primary reasons to hire a landscape architect. (1) A landscape architect like Dave has much more skill than a typical landscape company. You're much more likely to get something tailored to your own house and design desires if you hire Dave than if you go with a landscape company and get their "cookie cutter" plan. A landscape architect has nothing to sell you but their time and expertise, and they work for YOU! If you look at Dave's projects on Houzz, you will see a great variety. He does his design to fit the lot, the house, and the clients. (2) Dave has a roster of landscape companies he has worked with over the years and trusts. We would have had no idea where to start or whom to trust. Dave is an advocate for you in the bidding process and value engineering if needed once bids are received. And he is available as your advocate with the landscaper should any issues arise on the job (none did with our project). We highly recommend Dave!

Dave was a delight to work with on the design of our front yard. He spent a lot of time listening to our ideas and incorporating our feedback into the final design. He met with our contractor (EvoLution Landscape & Design, also great!) and worked within our tight budget to make our dream yard a reality. Dave also advised us on portions we could do ourselves for cost savings such as planting.
