About Us

Koering Custom Furniture, LLC. has been a custom furniture maker and artist since 1997, originally under the name Freestyle Design Woodworks, Inc. We specialize in high end, one-of-a-kind projects for private residences and commercial spaces. All pieces are handmade by our artisans at our workshop in Mesa, Arizona. Upon completion, we pack and crate any freestanding piece for shipment anywhere in the United States or personally hand deliver locally. Jon Koering began creating specialty furniture pieces as a personal interest and turned his love for artistry and woodworking into a career. He took the knowledge he acquired from his father, who was a high school shop teacher and other woodworking masters, and soared with creativity. His many years of experience and innate talent are the core of every piece created by Koering Custom Furniture, LLC. For years now, we've had clients request interesting, unique and exotic pieces. We stand by our motto which is, "We can probably make that." Let us help you make your dream project a reality!

Simply stated the best . He did a bathroom vanity in solid walnut for me.He took the effort and time to find just the walnut I wanted , Sent me pictures of the progress . He always communicated with me throughout the building of my vanity . He went out of his way to get a certain finish I wanted that he normally does not use. He definitely aims to please . When I picked up my vanity you could see the perfectionism in his work. He took his time to explain what was done . He never rushes you out like others. If you take a look into his shop like I did before the job , you can tell its a shop of everything has a place , neat & clean also. Most shops I have seen are a totally unorganized - not his. I would definitely recommend this guy in a heartbeat .

Jon built us a one of a kind bar for entertaining guests in our house. Made of american walnut and finished like a fine Weatherby gun stock. The completed project is stunning and He and his crew made the installation fit our home perfectly. The first bar we had made was a disaster and was unloaded on craigs list because we didn't do our homework. After looking at some of Jon's work and meeting with Him at his shop and in our home we decided to have Him build what we wanted. Custom furniture is not the cheap way to go, We tried that and after Jon's installation was complete we were delighted that we finally got what we paid for. This is a company of craftsman period. You will not be disappointed.

Being an interior designer, I work with custom furniture makers often and it is not always a pleasant experience. Working with the artisans at Koering Custom Furniture, however, is always a pleasure. They are not only extremely amazing craftsman, they are innovative and they make the experience of designing and making furniture fun. I always value Jon's innovative input when I am designing a piece of furniture, remodeling a kitchen or creating a lively new vanity. I would recommend Koering Custom Furniture to anyone!

From start to finish working with Jon exceeded all of my expectations. He listened to my wants/goal and designed a unique piece that was perfect. He set a timetable for completion and came in a few days ahead of schedule. The workmanship was exquisite. And, to make things even better everyone I have referred him to has had the same experience. An incredible talent with an attention to detail and a strong sense of customer service; a combination putting Jon in a class by himself.
