Beware... Jonna rips off subcontractors!!! I was excited to get a call from Jonna to subcontract on the extensive renovation of a Lakehouse in Fenton Michigan. The superintendent Doug warned me it could take up to 30 days to get paid. This seemed odd to me but in the interest of getting more work I went along with it. There were three very large doors that no one on the job could install. I offered a very reasonable price and performed the work. Everyone seemed very happy with the work. First I mailed my invoice and tax forms which their accounting department claimed they never received. I then went into their office and filled out some forms for them and gave them another invoice. I was told they are no longer working on that project but it sounded as if I still would get paid . After months have past Jonna no longer returns phone calls or e-mails. I called the homeowners but they don't return the call either. As an unlicensed subcontractor I have no legal recourse to collect the money I'm owed. I believe Jonna knows this and through the grapevine I was told other subcontractors were burned on the same job. If you're thinking about working for them beware. If you're thinking about hiring them to work on your home beware. You don't want workers who were ripped off coming back to your home looking for payment.
