Julie Gabrielli is a wonderful architect, thinker, teacher, and colleague. Her range of talents extends from the intellectual to the practical, marrying spirituality and building craft, poetry and pragmatics, thoughtfulness with decisive action, in a seemingly effortless synthesis. I have worked with Julie since 1990 on several kinds of projects -- for example writing (See the Whole Building Design Guide), the 2007 US Department of Energy Solar Decathlon (See LEAFHouse), and teaching in the University of Maryland's award-winning Comprehensive Studio. I have tremendous respect for Julie, her ethics and her practice!

Julie Gabrielli is an incredibly talented architect. She has an amazing eye for spacial relationships and has the precision of a mathematician but is also an extraordinarily creative artist. Julie helped us to design the home of our dreams and walked us through the entire process. She carefully balanced our desire for a sleek modern space, with function and of course kept an eye on the budget. She is a leading expert in eco-friendly building and helped us to choose materials and techniques that were mindful of the environment but did not compromise on aesthetics. She is decisive but flexible, knowledgeable, easy and really a pleasure to work with and above all will help you achieve a design that is not only beautiful but functional. We absolutely love our Gabrielli designed home!
