Kalin Architectural Woodworking fabricated unique interior molding complimenting a high end remodeling project in Kahala. Having the talent and ability to fabricate on-site mill-work and match existing conditions is only found in a few individuals working at the upper end of the profession.

We used Mr. Kalin for a very difficult radius stairway railing and he did an incredible job. We were skeptical that he , or anyone for that matter, could pull off this railing, but we were pleasantly surprised by the end result. This work is truly a piece of art. I have known David for well over 20 years professionally as a building associate and as a personal friend and I am honored that he has asked me to comment on him professionally. We hired Dave Kalin to remodel our kitchen. We couldn't be happier with Dave's work. He provided complete drawings based on our desires, and worked with us on changes. He discussed change recommendations, showed us cabinet wood samples, and generally was very patient, tactful and professional in getting the project ready to start. He retained excellent subcontractors for such diverse things as inserting a structural beam (for a wall being removed), for plumbing, electrical, drywall, and electrical work. He provided a detailed written estimate for all work. When the project started, it went smoothly. this included handling the usual unpleasant surprises that always come up. For example, one wall of the room turned out to be out of plumb. Dave not only spotted this, but also corrected it at no extra charge, a full two days of work. I was constantly impressed with the knowledge and attention to detail that Dave put into this project. Our new kitchen exceeded our wildest expectations. Everyone who sees it is most impressed. Dave is an amazing and creative finish carpenter. He is more - able to work with customers, dedicated to excellence, possessed of a network of tradesmen, a no-nonsense supervisor. I would recommend Dave highly for any renovation/remodeling project or top tier quality new construction you may have in mind.

We hired this company to redesign and install our kitchen. Mr Kalin made helpful suggestions and coordinated all subcontractors involved in this project and we were extremely happy with the results. The work was accomplished quickly we were using the finished product much faster than anticipated. Our satisfaction was so hight that we hired Mr. Kalin to redesign our dining room a year later. One of the products of this redesign was a dining room table that is truly a work of art. We highly recommend Mr. Kalin's work.

David Kalin is one of the best, if not the best. architectural woodworker on Oahu! Mr. Kalin did three separate projects for us! (See? We went back for more!). These projects had architectural challenges and he more than met our high expectations! David is very creative, professional, reliable, timely and cost efficient! David Kalin does excellent work and delivers as promised. He has a good design eye helping to work through details that might not be apparent at the start of a project. David has done several cabinet-making projects for our condo apartment. Materials and workmanship are great, and he is very much service-oriented. Gets things done on time. Very pleasant to work with.

After considering several options, we engaged Kalin Architectural Woodwook to install custom designed and constructed cabinetry in our master bedroom suite. David worked with us every step of the way suggesting details that made the outcome even better. We were absoutely delighted with the price, David's professionalism, the quality of the cabinets and the installation. If I had known of such a great source for woodwork, I would have hired David years ago.

We hired David Kalin to bring our kitchen and dining room into the modern world. We originally had a dark galley kitchen which did not have room for more than 1 person at a time. Dave suggested moving the sink to make a wider aisle and to put an open hatchway in the wall to the dining room to provide more natural light in the kitchen . He also designed cabinets for the kitchen and dining room. The cabinets were built using sturdy plywood with a cherry finish. Dave organized getting the electrician, plumber and the granite counter top fitter working in a timely fashion. Four years later everything works well and still looks new. My wife and I now do a lot more cooking together than we ever did with the old kitchen. For our compact dining room David designed and built a spectacular custom table (which is probably shown on his website) along with a fixed bench against the wall, and another bench for the open side of table. We can now actually entertain people in our dining room. Overall, David is a superb craftsman. He is also very professional and he gets my strong recommendation if you need some architectural woodwork.
