People often ask me what I like most about garden design, and it’s really simple: nature inspires me to use its vast complexity to create exciting outdoor spaces for others. The movement of the grasses in the wind and observing flower buds unfolding their beauty excites my appreciation for gardens and their fascinating potential. I have earned a diploma in Landscape Design, with Distinction, from the prestigious KLC School of Design. I achieved three further awards: Project Design Award for Hampton Court Palace Garden Room Design, Project Design Award for Plants and Planting, and the Garden Hill House Project Award. The Garden Hill House Residential Design Project is currently under construction and more information will be added upon its completion. To gain a deeper knowledge of how spacious gardens and nurseries are run, I was privileged to work at the most inspiring garden Great Dixter in East Sussex, and with Chris and Toby Marchant and their passionate team at the Orchard Dene Nursery in Oxfordshire. My creative approach allows a reconnection with nature and designs that draw on the emotion ingrained in the natural beauty of plants with a sensitive response to the unique features of each site. I seek to create outdoor spaces for my clients that offer a richness of form and texture, and a multi-layered experience. The use of select, local materials follows my ethic of sustainability and will increase the ecological diversity of your garden. As important as these principles are, I always seek to have a thorough understanding of my client’s desires and with my background in financial services I have a respect for budgets and timings.
